This simple homemade cornbread recipe is perfect for chili or stew.

- 1 cup yellow whole grain cornmeal
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup egg substitute or egg white
- 1 cup skim milk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly oil an 8x8 inch baking pan.
Combine dry ingredients in medium-sized mixing bowl. Add wet ingredients and mix well. Pour batter into pan.
Bake until done, about 30 minutes. Allow to cool then cut into 6 squares.
