(Page 2 of 7)Red wine vinegar is a fabulous addition - tart & tasty.
any idea how many this serves?
BELIEVE I am making a big 'ole pot of this tomorrow. I'm going to watch him being sworn in while eating a big bowl of his chili. Maybe cornbread instead of rice.
Love it
I made this late tonight and it is fantastic!
The only two ingredients I did not have were turmerica and red wine vinegar. I used two quarts of my own canned tomatoes. Delicious!
I can't wait to make this Chili on Jan 20th. I will be eating this and watch the Speech. Love ya Barack

As far as I'm concerned, chili without beans is just spicy spaghetti sauce.
I only make Chili with beef and I would never add cumin or turmeic or Red Wine Vinegar to it.
Even though I love, support and voted for Obama, as a native New Mexican, and long time Texan, I would say that this is an OK recipe for chili. It's similar to an american style of chili that I make for my husband that doesn't have the kick that NM chili has. But in general, it's pretty generic. Add some poblano or serano peppers and some dark beer to the mix and you'd be talkin'. We New Mexican's use hatch peppers to make our chili and generally put it on everything from enchiladas to hamburgers. But I understand that Obama is from Hawaii and Illinois, so I can appreciate his perspective on chili.

I absolutely LOVE the fact the the nutritional information includes Weight Watcher points value! As a member of WW, it makes enjoying this recipe easier and guilt free.
Why, it's very similar to mine, however I have never heard of placing it upon rice...but a good slice of yellow cornbread goes nice. One Real Indipendant, not Dem or Rep...simply American*
