(Page 2 of 8)Mr. President !!! I love your recipe. I think the chili are as good as you. I love the kitchen. I think it was a great and fantastic recipe idea.
Can't wait to try... Like the new pres...probably will like new chili...
Fantastic recipe. My family loves this recipe. It is a big hit but so is President Obama.
Being that I live in the Chili capital of the world (NM), I make my chili with fresh grown pinto beans (nothing out of the can) and Bueno red chili, made right here in NM. Nothing beats the savor and spice of chili with fresh ingredients......and, the hotter, the better. Fresh ome made flour tortillas completes this meal.
Should have used pinto beans. Read the recipe before you buy into his chile.Like read his bills also.
Go Obama! Love the idea of chilli !
different!
don't like him or his chili !
sounds liks something he would come up with ! His chili is about as good as him being Presidet !
Ugh !
I've made this many times--including for election night, the Bush Bash Bonfire I hosted, and Inauguration Day, and everyone loves it. I usually make it with turkey. It IS a Yankee-ish recipe, but the Prez does love to put Louisiana Hot Sauce on his, so he's thinking of all y'alls! Like our PILF, this one is sweet, lean and as spicy as you want it to be!
I'm amazed at all the people who seem offended by ingredients this does or doesn't have. Some say this is "Yankee chili". Well, duh--our President is a Yankee. Some find rice odd, but it's the standard starch in the President's boyhood home, Hawaii. I personally make a vegetarian chili that combines corn, beans, tomato juice, and spices. Is it "real Texas chili"--no. Is it good--yes. People must be open to accepting other ideas, both in food and in life in general.
This recipe isn't quite as bad as the 'stimulus' plan. But it seems like it would be just as well setup for long term disaster.
Going to try and make this next week!

This one is a "sweet" chili. I added jalapenos to try and jazz it up a bit, but the chili is fantastic off the recipe as well.
Red wine vinegar is a fabulous addition - tart & tasty.
any idea how many this serves?
BELIEVE I am making a big 'ole pot of this tomorrow. I'm going to watch him being sworn in while eating a big bowl of his chili. Maybe cornbread instead of rice.
Love it
I made this late tonight and it is fantastic!
The only two ingredients I did not have were turmerica and red wine vinegar. I used two quarts of my own canned tomatoes. Delicious!
