Carbohydrates fall in to two categories: the good and the bad. "Good" carbs are typically rich in fiber, and our body aborbs their nutrients slowly to minimize blood sugar spikes. Examples would be fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, and legumes. "Bad" carbs are typically found in processed foods, where the nutritional value has been stripped out, and these do cause blood sugar spikes. Examples would be the often feared "white carbs" - white bread, snack cakes, white rice, white pasta, french fries, breading on fried foods, potato chips, etc. Here are 17 Healthy Carbs You Should be Eating.
