On the grapefruit diet, should you eat the grapefruit before meals or after?

Hey could someone please help me?
So I'm starting this diet tomorrow and I wanted to know when should I have the grapefruit? Before meals, after, or during..and if before or after how many minutes before or after..
And, one more thing, because of religious reasons I'm not allowed to eat pork. So, is there any substitute for the 2 slices of beacon in the morning? And if I just leave it out will it affect the weight loss?
