There is no provided medical supervision on the Medifast program. You are advised to speak with your physician before beginning the program. You are also advised to consult with your doctor throughout the diet if you are over 70, under 18, have diabetes, hypertension or other serious medical conditions. There are currently no centers located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
If you go to a center, they will run bloodwork on you. If anything is indicative of a problem (thyroid, kidney function, etc.) that you are not being treated for by a doctor, they will refuse to let you continue without getting clearance from your doctor.
