how can you be so insecure? youre 14. you have your whole life ahead of you. theres starving children in africa. watch some of those commercials about how one 14 year old kids parents were killed and he has to take care of his siblings. you think he smells roses everyday? you think the even has a science teacher? the world doesnt revolve around you so stop being stupid. adopt a dog. hell always make you feel better

Isabel, I feel your pain! You should watch Fat Sick and Nearly Dead by Joe Cross. It is a documentary on Netflix, You Tube or itunes. I think it would give you a new perspective. Also check out The Institute for Integrative Nutrition and think about hooking up with a health coach. It is more about what is going on with your personal life than the food. Your personal life is your primary food and the food you eat is secondary to that! After you resolve those issues you can start adding in healthy eats and truly receive the benefits from them. Lots of Love, Jen

Rapunzel is a total idiot and a insensitive bully. Please make the decision early in life to avoid toxic people like that. High school was one of the worst times of my life but you gota know that someday it will be behind you. You've got to keep a calm head about you and not make any rash decisions that could affect the rest of your life. Depression is anger you've turned inward so try to work on communication skills that will help you be assertive (not agressive) when dealing with your mom and teachers and peers. Most likely the five lbs you lost was half glycogen storage from not eating for a week. Read up on glycogen. The real issue I see is depression. So I think if you spent half your lunch period eating all natural fruits and the other half walking (in sunshine if possible) you'll feel a lot better and should be seeing some pounds lost in a few months. Don't eat anything after 7PM either. Don't drink sodas at all. If you just do a few small things like that, it WILL make the difference in how you feel and how you look. Hang in there.

I am so very sorry that you have parents who are so bad to you. I went through the same thing when I was a teenager. I was tormented by my dad who told me I was fat and pulled my hair all the time. At my smallest i was 98 pounds. I looked as if I was dying and now at my bigiest I am 160. I am 30 years old now and I have a loving husband and two wonderful kids, My son is 14 and he is a vey big boy but he is so handsome and I love him no matter his size as your parents should be loving you. They ae missing out on the most important part of being parents and thats unconditional love. Dont worry honey one day you will learn to love your self as I HAVE!!! And when you do please remember that you were always perfect (Always)!!!! Anyone who thinks anything else about you dosent really care and is probably just wishing they were you anyways.

14 is a tough age. You will get through it and have a lovely life. Don't worry about looks or popularity or any of it. Life gets WAY better after highschool. Talk to your parents about keeping only healthy low calorie stuff around for after school snacks - popcorn, celery w/cottage cheese dip, carrots in salsa, pickles... whatever you crave: sweet, salty, there's a low calorie alternative to crunch on. BUT - don't focus on juice diets, you're too young to be messing around with nutrition because your brain needs to grow still.
