Diets in Review Question

I am on my second day of the diet. I got asked to go to dinner with a friend and said I would go figuring I would just order steamed veggies with no seasoning and grilled chicken or salmon with no seasoning. My question is, would that be ok? Can restaurants do that for you? I want to be on the diet, but I don't want to stop my life because of it.
