Detroit's WJR Taps Mary Hartley, RD to Discuss Health Care Reform Laws

Published January 29, 2013

When WJR's Frank Beckmann talked to his Detroit listeners about some of the implications of the health care reform law, he invited our Mary Hartley, RD on to his morning news talk show to discuss. In a 15-minute on-air interview, Mary and Frank discussed the "The Affordable Care Act and Wellness Programs" and how these new laws will make it possible for companies to charge obese and overweight employees more for their insurance policies.

It's something Mary noted that employers are very much in their legal right to do. As well, she pointed out that many companies already have some form of cash incentive in place for their wellness plans already, but this level of oversight won't take place until 2014.
