Happy Inauguration Day!

Today is one of the single most patriotic days for an American, next to Independence Day. So celebrate with family and friends, and cater the event with recipes that our 44th President Barack Obama will enjoy.

Inaugural Luncheon Recipes
These are the six recipes, with wine pairings, that will be served to the new president, his family and other VIPs at the luncheon immediately following his swearing in ceremony. The three course meal includes Seafood Soup, Duck Breast with Cherry Chutney, Molasses Whipped Sweet Potatoes, and a Cinnamon Apple Spongecake. He'll have the benefit of dancing all night to burn the calories!

Barack Obama Chili
This is a personal recipe of Barack Obama's. It's perfect for a more low-key, at-home affair, especially for the cold, wintery conditions of inauguration day.

Barack Obama Pizza Burger
This recipe was named for Barack Obama and boasts all the flavors of his hometown, Chicago. We even offer some suggestions to cut fat and calories.

Kinsey’s Nutrition Tips

How to Quickly Analyze Your Diet

Examine the quality, quantity, and frequency of the food you’re eating.

Quality - Plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, whole grain/wheat products, lean protein, low fat/fat-free dairy; minimize empty calories and processed foods.
Quantity - Practice portion control. Know how many calories and fat grams you are consuming. Know how many calories you need and stick close to that number.
Frequency - It’s much healthier to eat several small, nutritious meals a day.

Morning Workouts
Morning work-outs are one of the toughest things to do these days, especially during the cold months of winter. But, exercising before eating breakfast has been proven to increase fat loss by using fat for energy rather than food. Give this a shot for a month or two and see if it works for you!
