Social Support aids Weight Loss and Maintenance

Studies show that having a positive, encouraging group of people (significant other, friends, co-workers, siblings, etc.) around you significantly helps with weight loss and maintaining those pounds lost. In fact, studies show the more support a person receives the more weight they loose. However, it?s important that the support come in the form of complimenting how you look, feel, or noticing a change in your mood/attitude rather then the total number of pounds lost.

Matt’s Fitness Tip

Matt

Working Out During Football Season
Football season is here and life is great. Watching football takes up a lot of time whether it be on television or watching it live. When watching it on TV try to get up and be active during the commercial breaks. Try doing push-ups, crunches, squats, or walk up and down the stairs a couple times. If you are watching it live, feel free to stand up during the intense moments and hit up the bathroom or nice little stroll around the stadium during half-time. These little bursts of activity will increase the heart rate a little bit and help burn those unwanted calories from the pre-game meal. Send Matt your questions today.
