I've heard people say that they do water aerobics and really lose a lot of weight. I'm spending alot of time in my pool since its summer and wondering what I can do in the water instead of floating around! Does anyone know good exercises in the pool? Do they help you lose weight? I'm already changing my diet and doing good with that, I know I just need to add some exercise to it.

Being in the pool, I can still be with my kids and get some exercise.

Thanks for any tips!

Working out in the pool is the best! I love a good float too, but this makes you feel so good when you get out. My kids even join in sometimes... they thinking we're playing "grown-up pool games." Smile Whatever works, right?

here's a site I found that gives some good info - http://www.inch-aweigh.com/waterexercise.html

Also, if you have a YMCA membership, they often do water classes. Might be a good way to get started and then do it on your own. You can take your kids too!! or just sneak out for a mom night. Smile http://www.ymca.net/programs/programs_for_aquatics.html

good luck!!

I have used one of those endless pools you see in the infomercials - they actually work pretty well, except it can only be used for exercise (which is kinda lame imo ) Rolling Eyes

I have tried nearly every diet out there, and if I didn't try it then one of my girlfriends did. We have never found one that suited us until now! It is truely amazing and has shaped my life greatly. You will feel like a million bucks everyday with the success we shared. You can see my story at http://realisticdietprograms.blogspot.com or go to the website at http://myrealisticdiet.com
I've lost 17.2 lbs and counting how much did you lose?

I heard that water jogging is a really effective workout without the impact on one's joints. You can run in different speeds in the water (interval training). I think I'll try it one of these days.
