BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

The Skinnygirl Dish: Easy Recipes for Your Naturally Thin Life is a book written by Bethenny Frankel and Eve Adamson. This book is designed to give you practical, fast and economical recipes that keep you from falling into the diet trap.

Bethenny Frankel, one of The Real Housewives of New York City, is also a New York Times bestselling author, television personality and cookbook author.

In her book she shares ten rules that can be used to enjoy healthful, natural foods and escape the diet trap. This book tackles the basics of how and what to cook and eat. With this book you will find that you can get in touch with your inner chef, use the provided list of kitchen essentials to always have something on hand to create a healthy and satisfying meal, take your basic cooking skills to the next level, make personalized gourmet recipes from celebrity chefs and lighten up the holidays.

The book includes more than 60 recipes, but that can easily turn into more than 1000 recipes with the included “Use What You Have” substitution charts. Some of the categories of recipes included are Breakthrough Breakfasts, Delicious Dinners, Simple Snacks, To-Die-For Desserts, Skinnygirl Cocktails and tips for turning any dish into a vegetarian meal.

DIET and NUTRITION

The eating is the main focus of this book since it is a cookbook. The Skinnygirl Dish shows you how to make your favorite recipes using all-natural ingredients. Not only are there recipes for different items, but tips on how to make some of your current favorites healthier without sacrificing taste. Some of the popular recipes that Bethenny has created include:

  • Banana-oatmeal chocolate chip cookies
  • Low-cal mojito
  • Zesty chicken wings
  • Scones
  • French toast
  • Spinach and mushroom quiche
  • Guilt free fries
  • Healthy fried chicken
EXERCISE

This book is more of a healthy cookbook than a fitness plan. However, it could easily be used in conjunction with an exercise program of choice for weight loss.

CONCLUSION

The Skinnygirl Dish is a fun and easy-to-follow resource for those looking to sharpen their cooking skills and eat healthy. Eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to eat foods that are bland or boring. This book shows how you can add variety to your kitchen whether you’re making cocktails or breakfast. Bethenny Frankel provides numerous recipes and many ways that you can substitute ingredients for what you have around the house.

Awesome, heathful receipes that even some of the pickiest eaters will try. My friends love when make things out of this book, and they can't believe how heathy everything is. Also, I really like the "use what you've got" varriation ideas at the end of each recepie. just wish it was in spiral form instead of bound paper back :)
