My Body Tutor

One-to-One Nutrition and Fitness Tutoring

BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

Founded my Adam Glibert, My Body Tutor (MBT) is a one-on-one service that provides clients with totally personalized nutrition advice and fitness counseling. When you sign up on MyBodyTutor.com, you will receive a personal tutor whom you will report to everyday. You will log in daily and report your diet, exercise and overall feelings. You can also ask any questions you like. In turn, your tutor will comment on your meals and workouts, answer your questions and give you daily feedback on your overall progress for the duration of the time you use the program.

In addition to daily feedback, you will also have weekly calls with your tutor and receive motivational email regularly. The site also provides you with graphs to help visualize your progress.

Another important aspect that your tutor will help you with is the emotional side of weight loss. Each day, you will be asked to list three things you are grateful for, and to make three goals for the following day. These help you focus on the good things in your life, instead of concentrating on the difficulty of weight loss. You can also talk to your tutor about the causes of your weight gain, emotional eating or any other aspects of your life that make weight loss a challenge.

DIET and NUTRITION

The diet plan is very flexible. Overall, you will be encouraged to cut down on processed sugars and simple carbohydrates. You are advised to eat complex carbohydrates and protein with every meal, and also to eat once every three hours.

Each day, you will log the time of each meal and what you ate. Your tutor will then make suggestions if your meals could have been healthier, or applaud you for making good choices.

EXERCISE

Like the diet, My Body Tutor gives you a totally personalized workout. If you already have a sport that you love, you will be encourage to do that or your tutor can create a workout for you based on your fitness level or specific goals. At the beginning of each week, you will decide how many times you will work out. The MyBodyTutor site will keep track of the number of times you have worked out and how close you are to this goal.

CONCLUSION

Many studies have shown that social support is key to weight loss success. My Body Tutor provides both an aspect of social support and accountability. Users get both work out and nutrition advice for the cost of just one service, in addition to emotional guidance.

At the time of this review, Adam Gilbert reported that no one had ever requested their money back.

Laura

This is an amazing program and I don't know why, but it works. I have tried everything--boot camps, WeightWatchers, NutriSystem--and this is the only program that has given me any results. It is expensive but I consider it worth it because I am changing my habits and perceptions about food permanently. Am down 10 pounds so far and I have every reason to believe I will reach my goal weight.
