ModelFIT is a workout class created by celebrity trainer Justin Gelband, who has worked with numbers models and celebrities. A few of his model clients include Kate Upton, Candice Swanepoel, Erin Heatherton, Irina Shayk, Miranda Kerr and Jessica Perez.

ModelFIT aims to help women of all body types get strong and lean. The class often features circuit training, which incorporates exercises from a diverse range of disciplines. Classes may include elements from Zumba, martial arts, kickboxing, functional strength training, Pilates and yoga. There is always an additional trainer on hand in addition to Gelband.

Justin Gelband earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Sports Monagement from Rutgers College. He is also certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, in addition to having certification in therapeutic massage and nutrition.

As of February 2012, ModelFIT classes are offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

DIET and NUTRITION

ModelFIT is a workout and therefor does not necessarily focus on nutrition. However, Gelband is trained in the APEX nutrition program, and is well positioned to advice his clients on questions of diet to help them get the bodies they want.

EXERCISE

ModelFIT classes differ each session, but typically begin with a warmup and incorporate circuit training. The exercises may incorporate elements from a number of different fitness disciplines, including kickboxing, functional strength training, Pilates, yoga and martial arts. Circuit exercises may take advantage of workout equipment such as light weights, resistance bands, medicine balls, light weights, steps and balance boards.

Gelband emphasizes good form and control throughout the workout, and says that many different movements are key. The classes are kept small, which means that each clients will get individualized attention and a personalized workout that's suited for her goals and fitness level.

Clients should bring a clean pair of gym shoes that have not been worn on the street.
