Lipoway

A weight loss supplement that blocks hunger.

BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

Lipoway is a weight loss supplement created by the nutraceutical giant MicroNutra. Lipoway contains a proprietary blend of Konjac root which contains glucomannan, a water-soluble fiber. The product claims to promote a feeling of fullness, reduce appetite, moderate portions and support digestion.

When you ingest Lipoway, it forms a gel-like mass in your stomach giving you the feeling of being full even though no or a small amount of food has been consumed. The gel is then passed through your digestive tract.

Konjac root is often consumed in Japan as a food and as a way to improve intestinal function.

  • May cause side effects
  • Weight loss products containing Glucomannan are banned in Australia and other countries because it can cause choking when swallowed

CONCLUSION

Lipoway is a weight loss supplement that contains konjac root, a starch-like plant whose key ingredient is glucomannan, a water-soluble fiber. While there is limited evidence to suggest that products containing glucomannan may support weight loss, potential consumers should be aware that these kind of supplements are banned in certain countries because of their ability to cause choking when swallowed.

Keep in mind that glucomannan can be found and safely consumed in shirataki noodles which can be purchased in grocery stores. Therefore, you are strongly encouraged to talk to your medical doctor before taking any supplement containing glucomannan.
