(Page 4 of 4)I struggle to find time to work out so I didn't like struggling to figure out to get the avatar to move. I'll be returning mine as well.
The graphics are horrible. The screen hardly moves at all when you're exercising... you basically get to watch your avatar run/kayak/bounce in place just like you... The instructions aren't clear. If you follow the basic instructions given you will spend most of your time watching the clock run down while you try to figure out how to get the avatar moving... in fact moving all about searching for the right motion to get your activity recognized may be the biggest part of the workout! The wii fit games that came with the balance board may not be the heaviest of workouts but they respond much more fluidly and are much more motivating as a result. I was really looking forward to the kayaking portion of the game but basically the movements that got recognized where the same for everything... a sort of punching motion with the hand controllers... the graphics that rolled by were boring... mostly trees with one wooden dock scrolling slowly by. Not worth the money at all!
Don't waste your money. Too many glitches to get a good workout. Run around the block instead. You'll be less frustrated.
Hi i got this for my bday.. not sure if i like it yet.. i do notice that if you just stand there and move your arms it does the action anyway.. but if you do that..what's the point in using this as an exercise.. wish she had more encouraging words than the same ones over and over.. but i can look past it.. i definitely feel like i worked out (sore the next day) as compared to the wii fit.. i;ll still keep doing it
As the owner/moderator for the WiiFitAddicts yahoo group, I have to say there's a convincing review of Horrible! on the game as is already expressed in all the comments above. Too bad. It's going to seriously hurt her BRAND if she doesn't consider an immediate recall of the program and fix it. Too bad really since she's done so much to help fitness in other areas. This one just doesn't work.
Feel free to join our wii Fit Addicts user group on yahoo.
While it motivates, it is clunky and has horrible connections with the Wii fit pad. Keeps saying I am moving and cannot connect, yet the Wii Fit game has no problems at all. I am only a couple more tries away from taking it back to Target and demanding a refund...
Really wish I hadn't wasted the money... I can't get the hang of most of the exercises. It is nearly impossible to do the tire course, the log jumping is random motion activated, and forget about the kick boxing. After playing it 4 or 5 times I have only been told to punch or kick 3 times!!! I hope they do a recall as someone suggested b/c this version is a waste.
very disapponited with this game ! just got a wii ift and thought this would be great but da control BLOWS, sound BLOWS, graphics BLOWS and dont get me started wit da music !! it's definately going back to gamestop. dont waste your time or money play the game that comes with the wii fit till better games come out
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Bought right away as a gift for my wife. Graphics are on par with Atari I played as a kid. I can vouch for the controller sitting on the couch playing just as well as the player trying to play for real. My wife hadn't even picked up the controller and her player was doing the same exercises I was trying to do. Very frustrating and a waste of money!
Tried it for the 1st time last night. The jury is still out. Took a while to figure out all the games and movements but when I did it really had my heart rate going. Mulit-player was fun. I played with my 5 year old and he like racing me. I will have to keep trying it to really say how I feel about this game.
I am so disappointed in this game. I thought that I was doing the exercises wrong when nothing was responding. After reading here, it seems as though others are having the same issue. I would not recommend it until the next release. I will be returning this game.
On the plus side, from what I could tell, was there was not a lot of down time between the exercises, it moved from one to the other quickly, which is good.
On the down side if you have never done that exercise before it doesn't give you a lot of time to learn it.
I was so excited about picking this up since the games for th Wii fit board weren't challenging anymore. While the concept of this game is fantastic and opens up the possibilities for the Wii to be the core of home fitness, the game has some MAJOR programming glitches. The response time between the Wii board, the controller and the actual game is terrible! TERRIBLE, its practically nonexistent! You can litterally start the game, put the controllers on the couch and it responds as if you are actually doing the exercises while Jillian is telling you that you are doing a great job! I've seen reports of this all over the web, so I know that its not just my copy of the game. They obviously pushed this game out the door before they worked the bugs out of it. This by far is THE WORST Wii game I've ever played! I feel like somebody just stole $40 out of my wallet. The game programmers for this should be fired and Jillian Michaels should kick their butts! She probably could too. I mean its HER name on the game. They need to do what MGM did for the botched DVD release of the "Back to the Future trilogy", which is to POST A RECALL NOTICE for every single one of these games. You fill out a form on the web and they send you a self addressed postage paid envelope to mail the faulty disc. They then send purchasers the updated FIXED version when its ready for FREE! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME!
I purchased this game the day it was released. I was so excited to go home and try it........ but I was so disappointed. The choices of characters are extremely limited, the workout clothes, and colors are really dull. When I set "myself" up, I wanted to see someone close to what I am now.... all the women to choose from were already skinny, I wanted to be able to see myself "change". I expected this to be so cool, considering I think Jillian rocks, but am so disappointed..... I rather just do my Wii Fit, that's a lot more fun, and my little person looks like me.... oh the running is boring, you have the same scenery over and over, the cannon ball exercise is horrible, and well, all I'll say is I warned you.
At first I was real excited about this game, but after trying it several times I returned it. Character response time was poor, character reaction was very poor, and the graphics were terrible. And some of the exercises just did not respond properly, i.e. the tire run, the log jumping, log walk, grenade throw, and kicking bag (not using your leg when kicking). With the exercises I did enjoy, the monkey bars and the cannon load, I was able to adapt the exercise benefit of those and find them from my Wii Fit. The major plus of buying this game (though again returned), was I was able to reinforce my other exercise.
I can say I'm glad i tried this game. I love it. So much better then the wii fit. Will still do the body test on wii fit but this is the game to go. So much better then exercise videos too. I recommend this game to everyone.
I bought this game today and so far I am loving it. I haven't done all of the exercises yet, but I love how you customize options. You have 5-60 minute options and easy to hard options. That and you can build your own workout by choosing 5 components. If you have a Wii, than I would consider this "game." It says you don't necessarily have to have the Wii Fit. I love this companion to my Wii Fit.
This sounds like a great leap forward from Wii Fit which I think I've outgrown - need something more gutsy now but Wii Fit has given me the appetite! Are US Wii games compatible with European consoles? Is this Wii game being released in the UK at the same time?
See, this doesn't make me feel so bad about having a video game in my house w/ the kids. They can do this too and think it's so much fun. Already pre-ordered mine!!
