BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

BMIQ is a weight loss site that offers you the ability to lose weight at home and connect to group meetings led by licensed dietitians. BMIQ was previously called the Cardiometabolic Support Network. The site and program have been updated to reflect the new BMIQ branding. The entire BMIQ program is done online. This web site offers plenty of meal plans and online tools that will be helpful in your weight loss journey. BMIQ offers various professional weight management programs for those with a BMI or body mass index of 30 or greater if they want to make healthy changes. A BMI of 30 or higher places an individual into the obese category which can lead to several health problems.

BMIQ was created by Dr. Louis Aronne along with other diabetes and obesity professionals. The core programs of BMIQ include 16 different meetings and you will be part of a group that is assigned a registered dietician that you use for the duration of your program. You can choose from a variety of meal plans that are available and you have access to your dietician via email between meetings. You can also choose to have your doctor involved in your program.

DIET and NUTRITION

The meal plan that you choose will dictate what types of food you eat. The BMIQ program is not a diet or quick fix option. Although it is done entirely online, there is coursework involved so that you can properly learn how to eat healthy. The variations of the program are the healthy lifestyle program and the healthy diabetes lifestyle program. Each program gives you access to a registered dietician who will lead your weekly meetings. You can also email your dietician for help when you need it outside of the meeting times as well. The foods you eat will be customized to meet your specific needs. BMIQ will soon be offering a post-bariatric surgery program to expand to those who have recently had surgery.

EXERCISE

Your exercise recommendations will also be tailored to you individually. This program is all about finding what will work for you to help you reach your weight loss goals.

CONCLUSION

For those with serious weight problems, BMIQ could be a great alternative to trying yet another fad diet. All of the resources you need are provided with this program and the goal is to help you reach and stay at a healthy weight. The program was created by a medical doctor and you get to lose weight in a group setting. The program is customized to you without requiring that you leave home for the meetings. BMIQ brings together convenience and healthy to get you some great weight loss results.
