Almost Meatless is a cookbook offering recipes that are better for your health and the planet. This cookbook by Joy Manning and Tara Mataraza Desmond does offer meat recipes, but the recipes do not focus solely on the meat. Manning is a former vegan and Desmond is an avid meat lover. Together these two have created recipes that feature proper portion sizes of meat that are tasty and filling. This cookbook shows that you don’t have to have huge amounts of meat to be satisfied. There are many wonderful flavors infused through all of the dishes and meat is kept at a minimum. The recipes are designed so that those who are used to having lots of meat won’t really notice that ingredients have been substituted. Readers will learn that meat doesn’t have to be the feature item for a meal to taste great and be healthy.
