Slim Shots

Appetite control without side effects.

BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

If you're looking to curb your appetite, now you can take a shot. Slim Shots triggers the body's natural appetite control mechanism, also known as the ileal brake, satisfying users for long periods of time and in turn, allowing them to eat less, without sacrificing or depriving themselves of tasty foods. You can drink Slim Shots by itself or mix it with your favorite food or drink.

For the best results, you take two shots a day (20 calories each) the first week, then after that, just once during breakfast. Slim Shots is supposed to start working a couple hours after you take it. It has no stimulants, so there are no jittery side effects.

The company rightly advises that you need to do Slim Shots in conjunction with a balanced diet and exercise.

PRO
  • The Slim Shots website offers clinical studies
  • It doesn't act like a cure all, stating that you need to live a healthy lifestyle as well
  • Convenient cups travel with you
  • No side effects
CON
  • Slim Shot is not FDA approved
  • There isn't a clear and concise idea of how it actually works, doesn't give specifics about how the ingredients affect change
  • Each shot contains 20 calories
  • Ingredient Phenylalanine (50% of aspartame), can have dangerous effects for diabetics and those with ADD/ADHD
  • Should not be taken by those patients with PKU
INGREDIENTS

Slim Shots contains natural oat, palm oil, artificial vanilla flavor, sweetener, aspartame (Phenylalanine) and beta carotene color.

Phenylalanine makes of 50% of aspartame, an artificial sweetner commonly used in diet products. ADD/ADHD patients and diabetics may experience negative side effects as a result of consuming this ingredient. Those with PKU, or at risk for PKU, should avoid Phenylalanine as it can cause brain damage or even death.

EXERCISE

Unlike many other supplement websites, the Slim Shots site gives relatively in-depth nutritional advice. The exercise advice is very rudimentary: Commit to work out three times a week for 30 to 45 minutes. It also advises that you join a fitness class or devise a home workout routine that incorporates both aerobic and strength training.

CONCLUSION

The editorial tone on the Slim Shots website doesn't lead you to believe that the company is in the snake oil business. There are clinical studies posted, and good advice about how you should eat and exercise. Even though the language is not over-hyped, there still is some question as to how Slim Shots actually works.

Ultimately, it's up to the consumer to decide if it's worth, um, a shot.

It's been a while since I have taken Slim shot, it's done wonders to me, and that is why I lost count of how long I have taken it, I feel much sexier and slimmer, I'm not always hungry, and my husband even notice it. The taste is aweful, but that's like taking a shot of liquar (lol), the taste goes away, because I take this in the middle of a meal and then it goes away, I do feel one thing; my mouth is always dry, but that gives me the excuse to drink plenty of water. So far so good for me !

I have read all the reviews and think there must be something to this since most people like it and notice a change in appetite.

I am just wondering if you could take the palm and oat oils rather than the slim shots. I'm sure Health Food stores have them.

Has anybody else thought about this, or even tried it?

I've had really good luck with this product. From the first shot I took I noticed a decrease in appetite. They don't taste great but if you "shoot" it really quick and follow with water.. No problem! They work really well and I've NO adverse side effects of any kind.

Day 2. I only ended up taking 1 yesterday. I did get hungry while making dinner, but that was really due to the fact I was eating later than usual. I stayed in control and slept well. Took one this AM and feel great. I will definitely take a second one around dinner time. I find that the effects work for me right away. Will post after weekend is over to see if I'm still with this. So far, incredible how it kills the appetite!!!!

Today is my first day with the slimshots and I was really bracing myself for some horrific experience with the taste. I must be easy to please, because I actually liked the taste. Kind of reminded me of macadamia nuts. (must be the palm oil). Anyway, it is mid-morning and I am usually about starved by now and I'm sailing thru ok. I plan to eat a Lean Cuisine for lunch and take another one then if I need to, or I might wait till around 2pm. Let's see....maybe there is hope!

I have lost about 70 pounds in the last 3 years with no supplements. Just exercise and a healthy vegan diet.

Now I need help. I'm 160 and I want to get down to 116-120. My hunger has been out of control and I'm eating more now. And my weight loss has slowed drastically and it's hard to stay motivated.

After reading all the positive reviews about Slim Shots, I got excited and went out and bought a box. I am very optimistic! If this can prevent me from eating a few extra hundred calories a day, not only will I get to my goal weight fast, I will also save money!!

I start Slim Shots tomorrow! I will update my progress in a week. Stay tuned!!

Tastes awful (kind of like play-doh!), but worked well. I haven't been very hungry and didn't graze or overeat tonight, so...so far, so good. I can get over the taste for the rewards. I just sucked on a peppermint after wards and that helped ease the taste.

I tried slimshots and hated it! First off, it tastes nasty! I actually gagged. Then, I felt sick to my stomach (which could have been because the taste stayed in my mouth for 5 hours despite the fact that I was chewing gum.) and i was super shakey. I guess I don't know if it worked or not, because I can't take it because of the taste! Don't waste your money.

It does work. This is only my second day using it. I take one for breakfast and I wasn't craving that donut that I usually eat in the morning. I took another one before lunch, and I still felt full and only had a small salad versus a large one. And regarding the taste it doen't taste bad to me, it actually taste pretty good.

After reading peoples reviews I was skeptical, but I picked some up at the drug store and it DOES help. It doesnt make you lose your appetite like other products, but it helps take the edge off and thats what I need at work. I tend to snack when im sitting around a lot and now I can actually tell myself "no" rather than pick at candies and stuff because I cant help myself! :) So yes, I would recommend it if you're a 'snacker' and need to get rid of the habit...

This is my second day trying slim shots. The taste isn't that bad to me and I didn't graze all afternoon and evening like I normally do. I plan to keep using it to see what the results will be. I also try to walk 2 miles 3-4 days a week. Hopefully this will be the answer I've been looking for too!

it don't work at all. whoever made this product it was with the intention of stealing people's money with their little scam. it sounds like a deal but it is not when you first buy it, after you give them your credit card they send you more and more and they get your money weather you want the product or not, so please don't be part of it.

The taste is not bad, for some may be acquired...BUT....this is for people who OVER EAT....it works great for that, you're not supposed to try to eat a carrot and be naive enough to think that will be enough, it doesn't work like that, fix your regular food, get a plate of your normal meal and see how quickly you get that 'full" feeling...yes, you should eat healthy, but healthy still means to have your food groups including protien especially, not just carrots or celery, get real.

Throw in some walking 3 times a week and you'll notice a difference in your body and overall feeling of health.....it takes 2-3 hours to really work, so for breakfast, have a cup of coffee, pop it in there....go get ready for work....then actually eat your breakfast.....good luck everyone.

Love it......"helps" control cravings while also giving me a full feeling before I can even finish my plate of food keeping me from over eating while I ALWAYS have done.
