Slim Shots
Appetite control without side effects.
If you're looking to curb your appetite, now you can take a shot. Slim Shots triggers the body's natural appetite control mechanism, also known as the ileal brake, satisfying users for long periods of time and in turn, allowing them to eat less, without sacrificing or depriving themselves of tasty foods. You can drink Slim Shots by itself or mix it with your favorite food or drink.
For the best results, you take two shots a day (20 calories each) the first week, then after that, just once during breakfast. Slim Shots is supposed to start working a couple hours after you take it. It has no stimulants, so there are no jittery side effects.
The company rightly advises that you need to do Slim Shots in conjunction with a balanced diet and exercise.
- The Slim Shots website offers clinical studies
- It doesn't act like a cure all, stating that you need to live a healthy lifestyle as well
- Convenient cups travel with you
- No side effects
- Slim Shot is not FDA approved
- There isn't a clear and concise idea of how it actually works, doesn't give specifics about how the ingredients affect change
- Each shot contains 20 calories
- Ingredient Phenylalanine (50% of aspartame), can have dangerous effects for diabetics and those with ADD/ADHD
- Should not be taken by those patients with PKU
Slim Shots contains natural oat, palm oil, artificial vanilla flavor, sweetener, aspartame (Phenylalanine) and beta carotene color.
Phenylalanine makes of 50% of aspartame, an artificial sweetner commonly used in diet products. ADD/ADHD patients and diabetics may experience negative side effects as a result of consuming this ingredient. Those with PKU, or at risk for PKU, should avoid Phenylalanine as it can cause brain damage or even death.
Unlike many other supplement websites, the Slim Shots site gives relatively in-depth nutritional advice. The exercise advice is very rudimentary: Commit to work out three times a week for 30 to 45 minutes. It also advises that you join a fitness class or devise a home workout routine that incorporates both aerobic and strength training.
The editorial tone on the Slim Shots website doesn't lead you to believe that the company is in the snake oil business. There are clinical studies posted, and good advice about how you should eat and exercise. Even though the language is not over-hyped, there still is some question as to how Slim Shots actually works.
Ultimately, it's up to the consumer to decide if it's worth, um, a shot.

Just started Slim Shots today. Had cereal and milk for breakfast. Couldn't finish my yogurt snack @ mid-morning. Didn't even want my Lean Cuisine lunch but ate most of it anyway. THIS STUFF WORKS!!! The taste didn't bother me, but I know it does bother some. I didn't sip it but took it like a shot. If I take another one this afternoon around 3 p.m. and it helps control my hunger during the dinner hour, I may have a REAL chance at getting rid of all this extra weight. I exercise but am over 50 and just can't seem to lose weight at the same pace that I did when I was younger. Thus, I get depressed and overeat. If I don't feel like overeating (and I'm eating up to 30% less per day), maybe I can get lose this extra 40# that I've allowed to creep on. I really feel like I have a chance this time.

Works GREAT for me, but the taste is HORRID to be sure. Kind of like rancid oil. Best I've found is to mix it with a can of chocolate Slim Fast and it's really not bad at all. Slight "off" taste, but not hard to drink the whole thing.

Love It. I am very sensitive to otc diet supplements that cause high bp and other symptoms. This reallly works. I have no side effects and it takes away the dreadful night cravings. I have lost 3 pounds after taking it for the first week. I will continue to use it. I am excited about losing weight.

It works. I take one in the morning BEFORE breakfast (about 15 -20 mins before) and my appetite goes way down. I do not skip breakfast, but I do find myself eating less and making better choices because my brain isn't screaming "FEED ME! FEED ME NOW!!!". Lunch I'm still under control, and find, again, that since I'm still relatively satisfied, I eat less and can make healthier choices. My most dangerous time of day is late afternoon, so I take one around 3:00 and then I'm able to control myself thru dinner (no 2nds and 3rds and dessert to boot! I'm not all that hungry!) and my eating day is done! It just puts me in better control so I'm able to make better choices and feel full sooner. It's not a miracle drug, but I am losing and for me, that is wonderful!
posted Jan 14th, 2009 11:38 amI am the type of person who is usually thinking about what I am going to have for lunch while eating breakfast, and thinking about dinner while eating lunch, and while eating dinner wondering what I can stuff myself with for dessert and planning for breakfast the next morning. This slim shot really helps get my mind off the food and do other things. It does not take away all hunger, just seems to make it seem less. That is my experience anyway.
The taste doesn't bother me at all. It's not wonderful mind you, but it certainly isn't that bad. Just kind of tastes like warm skim milk is all, but that's just my opinion.

This is my fourth or fifth day taking slim shots and its been working great. I noticed results within the first 5 minutes of taking my first one and I didnt even need a whole shot for it to work the first 2 days. The taste is the worst, yes, but it's worth it just to have the effects. My trick for taking the shot is to take a swig of anything you have (water, coffee, v8, etc.) and keep it in your mouth then take the shot-- swallow... after that, take a bite of food and the bad taste is gone.
posted Jan 13th, 2009 8:06 pmI only need one shot so far for me to be satisfied. I've gone down 4 pounds since I've started taking slim shots (which like I said was four or five days ago).

Despite the fact that the taste is HORRID, these actually work. I'm on my second day and I have pms which is usually hell on my diet, and here it's lunch time and I'm not hungry at all. I do wish they made these in pill form - but it's just a quick shot so I think I'll stick with it.

I bought my 1st batch of Slim Shots today & thought it would be as simple as drinking a glass of water, BOY WAS I WRONG!!! I could not get it down in any way shape or form. I wasted 2 shots on my first try!!! If you can get past the taste then go for it because the way I feel after barely taking a swallow, I don't want to eat for the rest of the year...Good luck to all who can get it down!!!!

Today is my first day taking slimshots. I must admit that I like it. I can over over the test because of the fact that slimshots produces results. I am going to keep trying it. For those who have a problem with the taste, take it with food, etc.

Started Slim Shots four days ago. Worked for me right from the first shot. I can eat an early breakfast and then another before noon. Not any more, thanks to Slim Shots. I am really impressed with this product. The taste is not the best but it is worth a few minutes of bad taste to curb those cravings. Good Luck!

Took my first one this morning with breakfast. Usually by now at work I'm munching on something, but not today! I still feel really full! The taste is NOT that bad. Go for it!!

Based on the reviews I have read, I am giving this product a tray. Hell, why not . . . I've tried just about everything else! In addition, I do exercise regularly, but not fanatically, and I understand the importance of a healthy, balanced diet. I do believe that weekends should be days of reward. I used to be an athlete and have kept somewhat limber and athletic depite the weight gain. I plan to continue this while on the Slim Shots (keep a balanced lifestyle, enjoying life, exercising, but still keeping healthy). It is hard for a person who was athletic to get back that type of body/figure. I will keep you posted on my results/findings/feelings on a weekly basis as soon as I receive the product.
