Phenterthin

Diet supplement makes claims, but is vague about product details.

BACKGROUND

Phenterthin is an appetite suppressant and fat burner available without a prescription. The product claims to be the best selling appetite suppressant for females in America. This once-daily pill claims to decrease appetite, burn fat and boost your metabolism up to 75 percent.

Phenterthin does not provide any ingredient information. It claims to be all-natural, but there is nothing posted to support or counter this.

PRO
  • Suggests that clinical trials have been conducted
  • Offers a free trial, although there is an auto-bill program
  • Claims to offer results safely

I am glad I am not the only person that has fallen for this scam!! I know that is awfull to say, I guess I feel better knowing I am not alone in this, I do however hate that they have managed to scam so many people. I ordered the so called "free" trial for $5, and thought that was it. I sure was surprised when my account was debited $150 !! Not only that, the 2 bottles of pills I "didn't" order did not come for several days after the debit from my account. After trying to contact them via thier website, which is a joke, calling them on the phone, and e-mailing them, I realized that I needed to dispute the charge at my bank. I had to fill out two different forms, and I felt like a fool, but I did get the chance to let the Company know that I knew they were a bunch of thieves!! It was worth it though because I did receive my money back, and I have 3 bottles of thier pills which I have not yet tried. I am a little leary of taking them now that I have read all the comments posted here. Those of you that have been "scammed" please check with your Banks to see if it is still possible to dispute the charge!! I believe our Bank gives us at least thirty days, maybe more. Don't let these crooks screw you--fight back!! posted Jun 13th, 2008 9:34 am

This is too good to be true. Don't be fooled by this Phenterthin advertisement. Lose weight the old fashion way, eat less and walk more. posted May 19th, 2008 6:03 pm

This is a scam. I did get a hold of the company on the toll free number (READ the "Terms and Conditions") and I told them to cancel my order and it cost me $49.95. It saved me $100.00. No legitimate company would operate this way. The operator I talked to did not deny it when I called this a scam. posted May 19th, 2008 6:03 pm

i did the trial, got screwed into paying the $150 too.. it doesnt make me jittery like some of you say though. also, i did get through to someone on their number, and said you can return the package, but you only get $100 back.. so i kept it in hopes it may help me.. well, idk it has seemed to keep my "cravings" down tough.. posted Apr 15th, 2008 8:33 pm

i just like everyone else ordered the free trial and was charged $150, i simply went to my bank and disputed the charges, kept the pills, and within a couple weeks the money was put back into my account. not sure if phenterthin is doing much for me other than making me jittery...i workout almost everyday for a little over an hour...and not much that is noticable to going on over here...i would hope that no one else gets scammed by this crappy company, however if you do just DISPUTE IT AT YOUR BANK let them know you did not authorize the charge, and since no HUMAN ever answers the phone at the phenterthin company, you win the dispute. hope this helps.. posted Apr 9th, 2008 9:34 pm

I also ordered the FREE trial and put the shipping on a credit card, within days I received 2 bottles (120) and my credit card was charged 149.95. I also tried to call the company and was never able to speak with anyone. My credit card had to be closed and the charges were reversed back to the company. It was a hassle to say the least, but if enough people have these charges reversed maybe they will stop the scam!!! posted Apr 9th, 2008 9:52 am

These crooks operate under many aliases. They are mainly based in Oklahoma City, Ok. Write to the Oklahoma State Attorney General, 313 NE 21st. St.,Oklahoma City, Ok.,73105. Ask everyone you know to do the same. Also there is an online form you can file at www.ftc.gov, which is the Federal Trade Commission. posted Feb 25th, 2008 11:06 am

I do not know about everyone else but I did not get scammed. I got the trail and the other two bottles and it was only 5 dollars...and I have lost 25 lbs. on it. I have not got any other pills or charges to my account. I don't know, but I must be lucky. I also never got jittery or anything. It did exactly what it was supposed to do. I hope everyone found something that works for them! But, after hearing this I am NOT going to refer it to anyone!

I right there along with everyone else. Did the trial thing and got billed $149.95 without my permission and the whole thing is one big scame I didnt take any of the pills as I tried to return them to the company but couldnt get a live person to talk to as there is no one to turn them into. I also learned a very valueable lesson indeed.
