On the Topamax issue. Yes, topamax melts the pounds right off. But after a year.. you have to go off it for a few months and restart. then it melts pounds again. Then.. when you go off if the next time and try to restart it... IT DOES NOT WORK AND i have gained back every pound plus some. The key is to change your lifestyle while you are getting the boost from these meds. If you do not change lifestyle, then it will only be tempory.

I have been taking the generic 15mg capsules for about a month now and I've lost 8.5 lbs. I am very happy with that loss, since I am 50 years old, going through menopause and my metabolism had pretty much come to a screeching halt. However, with the phen, I can keep my food intake to around 1500 calories a day without feeling hungry. I tend to eat 5 small meals instead of 3 big ones. I do supplement with a multi-vitamin to make sure I get all of the nutrients I need, and I pretty much still eat what I like, but I eat it in much smaller portions, as I feel full more quickly. I've sometimes even gone all day without realizing I missed lunch... As far as the side effects, I had some problems the first two weeks with staying asleep, but my body seemed to regulate after a couple of weeks. I also had some minor chest pain for just a couple of days, like when I coughed or took a deep breath it hurt (but no tightness, shorness of breath or shooting pains that might indicate a heart attack) but again, that also regulated after a couple of days. I think it might have been a brief spike in my blood pressure, but it seems to be fine now.
posted Dec 16th, 2010 5:29 pmI have also stepped up my exercise by getting on the treadmill or using the Wii Fit that my husband got me for my birthday this year. The additional exercise has really helped me out on another front as well, because I also have issues with arthritis and the exercise helps to keep me more limber so that I don't have to take the NSAIDs meds as often anymore. Overall, I am very happy with phentermine and will continue to take it as my doctor recommends.

Trial and error. I've lost weight before on Phen then after a year put it back on which was completely ingnorant. You can build up a tolerance. My doctor recommends taking it for 2 months, go off for two weeks than back on...etc. It works great. So people leaving feedback say they aren't losing on 15MG, I'm a 210lb male and I'm on 30MG and could care less about eating.

I'm about to start taking phentermine tomorrow. I feel that I am also having some trouble with my thyroid and I hope that the combination of this medication and a thyroid medication will stop my sudden weight gain.
posted Dec 15th, 2010 3:27 amI eat really healthy, I work out, I am 5'3" and held pretty steady between 130 and 140 for a couple years. But suddenly, with no change in diet or work out, I gained 15 pounds. I really hope phentermine will help me get back to a more normal size.

Hi Everyone! My name is Jessica and I have used this med for several years on and off but mostly off. I have learned in this time that diet and walking makes it work wonders. I have been back on it for 16 days and have shedded 10.8 pounds. What keeps me motivate is i weigh EVERYDAY! I use the same scale and wear the same clothes, when you see the scale numbers moving down it puts a smile on your face, and starts your day off great. Some days it may only be a couple of tenths but it still loss. I have stuck to 1500 calories or less, i measure my foods and i don't eat out unless it is healthy. The first 2 weeks were the hardest but it helps. I have taken these pills many times but never lost like this, thats only because i stick to my calories, and to keep up with the calorie intake i have a APP on my phone, (Palm Pixi) Absolute Fitness, yes i paid 4.99 for it, but it helps a great bit. It also keep up with you BMI and Weight! I wish everyone luck, but in order for the weight to come off you will need to put a little effort with the pill. I only walk 20-30 minutes a day, and i have stopped eating fast foods. No sugar or SODAS!!!! I am a southern girl and love my sweet tea but now i use Splenda! GOOD LUCK to all!

I am a 27 weighting in at 254lbs 5â??7. Today I started taking Phentermine. My ideal weight for now is 200lbs by Jan but long term would be around 170. I already drink a lot of water (at least a gallon a day) and excise 3x a week; my down fall is that I do eat whatever I want. I am a diabetic so I donâ??t eat a lot of sweets its more of soul food that I love. So I was wondering if there is advice that anyone can give me on what else I need to do.

I started mine on sept 18 and lost 9 pounds in the first 10 days. I'm losing slower now but have lost a total of 20 pounds as of today. I take 30 mg once a day. I get a little bit hungry in the afternoon and eat an apple, that seems to be enough to hold me until supper. I have been writing down all food I eat and the calories. I have lowered my caloric intake to around 800-900 a day. I just can't eat that much anymore. I recommend sticking with it and watching what you eat. Good Luck to all!

i went to a doctor in Miami and he gives his patients a diet plan and other pills along with the appetite suppresant.

It makes you not hungry with a ton of energy. You will not be able to sleep or eat. Your heart will beat fast. It's exactly like being on speed. You will become tolerance will increase and after awhile it won't work anymore. I suggest taking the smaller dosage at first every other day then increase as time goes by. Don't buy online from different countries it is fake. I can't find a Dr that will prescribe to me. They all say it's really bad for you and I can't afford to go to a diet clinic. The nock offs like Phentramine don't work the same and beware if you order it sometimes they automatically keep sending it to you and charging your credit card. >:( I lost 60lbs in 6 months with it. It motivated me to excersize and not eat.

My name is Terria. My doctor prescribed phentermine and I started today. I'm somewhat nevous because today I started off with the full feeling but about after 1:00 I became hungry... not extremely but hungry. I took the phentermine at 8am. Can anyone give me any feedback on their first day on phentermine? Is this normal? What type of diets are you following? Any additional feedback.

I am 48 years old today. I had a complete hysterectomy 2 years ago and gained 70 lbs. I have tried every diet and I exercise 3 to 5 times a week. I weighed 200.8 pounds last week when I saw my Dr. and got a perscription for Phentermine. I started it on 9/18 and I don't have much of an appetite anymore(I have to make myself eat) and I have all kinds of energy. I weigh 197 pounds today! That's 3 pounds in 3 days! I love this stuff! I am finally starting to get back on track(I needed a jump-start). I also started to measure all of my food and I write down everything that I put in my mouth and how many calories. I eat less than 1000 calories a day now. Good luck to everyone else!
