The health benefits of a Mediterranean diet delivered to your home.

BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

We've all heard the singings and praise of the Mediterranean Diet as a nutrition formula for staying healthy and warding off various cancers and cardiovascular disease. For those who don't live in Italy but want to incorporate this eating style into your own health regimen, your life just got a bit easier. The Mediterranean Meals is a new company that delivers meals to your doorstop that adheres to the nuts and bolts of this famed eating style.

The Mediterranean Meals program was created by a medical doctor who just happens to be Italian and also attended culinary school in France before going to medical school. The best part of all is the meals are supposed to help you lose up to 10 pounds in four weeks. Not bad for not even dipping your toe into the Mediterranean Sea.

There are five different Mediterranean Meals plans that you can choose from. The four options are: Quick Weight Loss, Healthy Living Meal Plan, Cardiac Meal Plan and the Renal-Friendly meal plan.

Each of the meal plans incorporates the foods and flavors of the Mediterranean Diet using the Mediterranean Food Guide Pyramid as its foundation for creating meals. Each plan is calorie controlled, low in saturated fat, low in sodium and nutritionally sound. In addition to the prepared meals, your daily meal plan may also includes supplements like whey protein, all-natural energy bars, and vitamins.

FOOD and FOOD DELIVERY

The health benefits of the Mediterranean Diet are numerous. From preventing obesity, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes to hypertension, it has long been an eating style that has proven health benefits. On the Mediterranean Meal program, you are also supposed to feel in control of your hunger as you dine on meals that are prepared using Mediterranean ingredients and flavors. The cuisine of the Mediterranean Diet encompasses fresh vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, grains, nuts, pasta, fish and lean meats and uses heart healthy olive oil as its main source of fat.

Each daily meal plan on the Mediterranean Meal program is approximately 1,200 to 1,400 calories. Meals include:

  • Creamy polenta with roasted vegetables
  • Pollock with tomato sauce
  • Shrimp scampi

The 28-day meal plan is shipped in three shipments. The first eight days of the program are shelf stable food items, which are shipped in the first shipment. The second shipment is sent the second week, which contains frozen meals and shelf stable items as well. The third shipment is sent the third week, which contains frozen meals and shelf stable items as well. The meals are prepared fresh and flash frozen.

The Healthy Living Plan is shipped in one shipment which contains frozen and shelf stable meal items. A la carte meals are shipped in one shipment and contains frozen meals.

EXERCISE

The Mediterranean Diet is also conditional upon exercising each day. Even though the Mediterranean Meal program does not include a specific exercise plan, you are encouraged to engage in physical activity on most days of the week in order to speed up weight loss.

CONCLUSION

There is no question that the Mediterranean Diet has more lasting power than any fad diet out there. Medical research has long studied the beneficial effects of this style of eating with its reliance on fresh and whole foods, proteins and generous amounts of olive oil as a way to stave off chronic illness like cancer and heart disease.

The Mediterranean Meals program has capitalized on this famed eating style and is offering a convenient way for you to reap its rewards. It is convenient and healthy but expect to pay some money for this program. If you're in this to lose weight, then you must just eat what it is delivered to you. Nothing more. Nothing less. And make sure that you are exercising too while on this program. Any successful health and weight loss routine is not complete without it.

Andrea

When clicked the "try diet now" button, it brought me to a link regarding frozen food available in grocery stores; however, not available in my areas.

Does anyone know the correct website address to order the diet delivery that user Bonnie apparently used?

Kind of disappointing they're shipping "shelf stable food", when the mediterranean diet is so focused on fresh food.

I just want everyone who reads this to know that I finished the 28 day weight loss plan three weeks ago and have lost 15 pounds and I feel great! The meals were extremely tasty and satisfying; it was real food with real flavor. Also, I've been keeping off the weight by following the recipes in the back of the book(which they included in the first shipment), "Eating Your Way to Health; Mediterranean Style," written by the doctor who designed the Mediterranean Diet weight loss plan.
