This is probably the best eating program of all to follow. The foods are well balanced, nutritious, tasty and very easy to prepare. Ellie's advice is very good and the whole family can enjoy eating with Ellie.

I love Ellie. I love her recipes and her philosophies and her ideas about losing weight by eating real food and moving more without subscribing to a gym or buying anything fancy.

That said, the site is a total waste of money. Logging food was difficult -- it constantly posted things twice, gave me trouble when searching for simple, real food (instead I got name brands). There is nowhere to log fitness minutes -- why?

I am still a fan of Ellie's and I will continue to cook out of her books. But for online weight loss tools and message boards, I'm sticking to SparkPeople (which is FREE, not $52) and the WeightWatchers forum (ditto).

Whatever company runs this needs to get its act together, otherwise the only money it's going to make is from people curious enough to click past the pay firewall and then cancel out of frustration.

This is a fabulous diet, its for people who like to eat and cook.. Its not good for single people , because the recipes are often for 4-6 people. I cook once every 2 days and eat the same, this cuts down on the cost and labor. All with all the best tasting diet I have been on and don't have many cravings, as the food is delicious. Really good diet. But only for foodies who like to cook.

Ellie Krieger's recipes are fabulous, I will not deny that. I also agree with her suggestions for what types of food to eat (i.e. starch, vegetable, etc.) and how much.
There seem to be a lot of issues with the diet though. Namely that it is not realistic or an efficient use of one's money and time. If one was to follow this diet exactly, they would have to spend hundreds of dollars each week grocery shopping (for one person) and hours cooking each day. Most people just don't have that much time or money to follow it exactly. The diet also does not make use of leftover foods or food that you would use more than once in separate meals so as to buy less items each week. There also is not a way to change diet requirements, like if someone is a vegetarian or does not eat specific foods. You are required to change eat meal specifically. Also, the way you are charged and lack of easy way to cancel the program seem a bit manipulative.

Glenda, maybe you should read more carefully and check your credit card bill every month. Those things sounds like they are your own problems. Every plan like this has a contract, and if Food Network is backing it, of course there is a contract you need to understand before you act. Come on.

The web site is terrible and the diet plan is not explained. The menus she suggests are too expensive in that there is no consideration of leftovers, subsequent days of using up ingredients, etc. The worst part is that I was unaware of the time span the $65.00 for the diet and that they AUTOMATICALLY deduct $65.00 additionally every three months! As is true of the rest of the web site and diet, that detail was not adequately explained either! I was charged $65.00 four times before I discovered it on my credit card bill! I am VERY DISAPPOINTED to say the least. Not worth the money, my friends!
