BACKGROUNDBACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

Healthy eating may have just gotten a whole lot easier. The EatSmart Nutrition Scale takes analyzing your nutrition to a whole new level. It's not always easy counting calories, unless you eat everything in prepackaged form. And that's usually not the best way to go, since even a lot of healthier packaged foods are high in sodium and/or sugar.

The EatSmart Scale doesn't simply weigh your food. It analyzes the nutritional content. The EatSmart Scale will instantly calculate the following 12 essential nutrients in your food: calories, carbohydrates, fiber, sodium, potassium, magnesium, total fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, calcium, protein, and vitamin K.

This is a great way for you to make informed food decisions. You can't simply eyeball the exact nutritional information in your food. We typically measure by small, medium, or large, and while that can get you close, something like the EatSmart scale can get pretty exact.

Even if you are eating prepackaged foods, the EatSmart Nutrition Scale can calculate the nutritional content of foods that come in packages, boxes, cans and other labeled containers. So it has all the bases covered.

CONCLUSIONCONCLUSION

The interesting allure to the EatSmart Nutrition Scale is that it offers consumers something that even the most fact-based diets can't: nutritional analysis right before your eyes. That's not to say that you can't do without it. If you're educated about healthy foods and portion control, you can do a great job. But the EatSmart Nutrition scale makes it a whole lot easier.

Food scales are critical!
When you keep a diet notebook with a food scale you are much more likely to succeed.
You also must know the exact amount of calories you are eating. A few hundred calories a day can make a huge difference in the long run. You may actually be eating less calories than you think (this is very bad, you could be starving you muscles!)
Show that you are serious about weight loss by getting a food scale.

I got my scale a couple of months ago and it's completely changed the way I eat. I agree with Walter - there's no way to really understand what you have been eating or are eating without such a high-tech tool like this. It's one appliance in my kitchen that is never put away!

I have been using the EatSmart Food Scale for over a year and have been very pleased. Not only am I a diabetic, but I also am overweight and need to actively monitor my diet. I have lost about 20 lbs using the scale, but more importantly, I have had a much easier time controlling my diabetes. I would recommend this to anyone who really needs to start to understand the calories and carbs in the foods they eat. The database is extensive, and there really was no fresh food I could think of that wasnt in there. Highly recommended!
