Curves Complete
The world's largest fitness franchise goes to the Web.
You already know the Curves name and brand. There's probably one in your neighborhood. This chain of women-only gyms, promoting a quick and easy 30-minute workout, has grown to be the world's largest weight loss franchise. With 10,000 locations in nearly 60 countries, Curves is a trusted friend for women.
What makes Curves so successful is their attentiveness to and understanding of the women they serve. Whether you're a woman in the U.S., Brazil or Peru, you still have a harried schedule with kids, work, groceries and other chores. Putting your weight first isn't always the priority. And while the 30-minute workout that Curves has so successfully promoted has served thousands well, it was time to make the service even more convenient.
Curves Complete is the weight loss program associated with the Curves fitness centers. Through online tools, its doors are open 24/7, giving you greater access to information and support that will help you stay on track. Originally an online-only program, on December 26th, 2011 a new version of the program with an in-person support component was rolled out.
Curves Complete is built on three main pillars: nutrition, fitness and motivation. It's a 90-day program, with weekly meetings with other Curves Complete members and a private consultation with a weight-loss coach.

"What do I get to eat?" is usually one of the more pressing questions when considering a new diet. No one wants to go hungry or give up anything. It can also be a task measuring all of those calories and fat grams and trying to determine the healthiest meal choices.
There are two phases during the 90 days, followed by a maintenance plan. During these phases participants are taught to choose lean proteins, whole grains and other healthy carbohydrates such as fruits. Healthy fats such as olive oil, nuts and fatty fish are also recommended. You will eat 1200 calories during the first phase, which is the first week of the program. For the remainder of the 90 days, you will eat about 1500 calories.
Curves Complete takes a lot of the guessing and working out of the equation. Each day, you'll select a complete meal plan for the day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks are explained with detailed nutrition information and the counts already added.
A sample of a day following the Curves Complete meal plan could be:
Breakfast- bran muffin, egg white omelet with peppers and fat-free cheddar cheese.
Lunch- Plain grilled shrimp with a green salad and oil and vinegar dressing.
Dinner- White chili with a tossed salad and fat-free red wine vinaigrette.
Snacks- cottage cheese, Wheat Tins and cantaloupe; iced coffee low-fat white cheddar cheese and Wasa crackers
Many of the meal recommendations are accompanied with a recipe, making it that much easier to plan. You're also encouraged to get plenty of fiber, drink 64 oz. of water each day and take a multi-vitamin.
Naturally, Curves Complete incorporates working out regularly at your local Curves fitness center. Women are encouraged to work out four times per week, in addition to finding other ways to move more throughout the day. The workout consists of a circuit of machines, with platforms in between. In between exercising on a machine, you have the option of resting, stretching or adding some more cardio. You also have the option of doing the Curves circuit with Zumba, a Latin-inspired dance. The workout provides both cardio and strength training, and can be completed in as little as 30 minutes. All the machines use hydraulic resistance, which means everyone gets a workout that's appropriate for their fitness level, without needing to reset the machine or change out things like weights.
Members will also be given a pedometer, and are given a goal of 10,000 steps per day, which Curves Complete members build up to over time. Making goal and recording what you've done is also part of the program, and each night you will write down your exercise and total steps for the day.
Curves Complete really does say it all—the trusted experience of the Curves brand coupled with a comprehensive guide to weight loss. This interactive Web-based weight loss program is just the ticket to help you set a realistic goal and actually achieve it. With guidance in the way of meal planning and fitness, as well as connecting with the rest of the Curves community for additional support, you'll wonder why it hasn't always been this easy.

Well, from the comments it appears that the diet is an easy and effective way to loose weight. I believe that some of the concerns are about managment. Curves of Brideport is a great place to be and achieve goals.

I was a member of Curves in Lynchburg, VA in 2002 and was doing very well. Unfortunately, however, the management tried to cut corners and allowed their son in law to become part of their daily staff. I really thought this was very inappropriate and as a result I finally just stopped going. He was the only staff on duty during the times I went and even though he did nothing, but stand at the entrance, I still felt self-conscience. I explained the situation in a letter, however, never got anywhere. I continued to monthly fees deducted from my credit card and was never issued any refund. This put me completely against Curves and what it was suppose to stand for.... what a shame, I ended up gaining all of the weight back and more. What was the worst thing that happened is that my self-esteem continued to plumet and my depression worstened because of this incident.

I have tried for 3 month to cancel my subscription to Curves Complete and I am still being billed. I cannot afford it. Anyone who want to join don't. There is no cooperation

I have been a faithful member of Curves for the past 5 years. It is the only system that has helped me to lose and keep the weight off. It has also been a great stress reliever and delightful social activity. I've made many workout buddies over the years and we really do encourage one another. I love the support staff and really like the fact that there are no mirrors or men around to watch me while I'm working out. The food plan and supplements are top notch but like any other fitness program the secret is committment and consistency. I have highly recommended this program to all of my friends and family many of whom are now benefitting. Curves is not for everyone but I have found that most people who try it and truly challenge themselves see results in sometimes less than three weeks. I for one plan on continuing the course. It has really paid off.

This is the easiest program I have ever used. It is quick and easy, and you can change things as you go. It is THE best one I have ever seen.
