Akavar

Claims that you can eat all you want and still lose weight.

BACKGROUND Start the Diet Now Advertisement

Akavar 20/50 is a European weight loss pill that has achieved much success. It has made its move to the U.S. seeking the same. Akavar boasts that it is the ultimate fat cure and that you'll see the results you seek without any diet restrictions or inclusion of exercise.

Akavar is designed to restrict your daily caloric intake to less than normal. Without those calories that your body requires for energy, you'll start to use your fat reserves. This will of course cause you to lose weight and inches. However, you'll immediately gain back that weight should you stop using Akavar. The website offers little-to-know information about the product leaving open many questions about the supplement.

PRO
  • Promotes eating all you like and still seeing weight loss
  • Reduces urge to overeat
  • Do not have to count calories
  • Won't feel hungry
CON

Akavar 20/50 leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the more concerning details include:

  • Promotes a lifestyle without exercise and healthy diet
  • No FDA approval
  • Web site offers very little information
  • No published clinical research
  • Does not publish ingredients
  • Contains caffeine
INGREDIENTS

It takes a lot of research to find what is inside those little Akavar tablets, as the product's website bypasses any discussion. Akavar includes many caffeine sources including xanthine and green tea leaf. Other ingredients include yerba mate, guarana seed, ginger root, kola nut, Tibetan ginseng, cocoa nut, rice flour, yellow no. 6, red no. 3 and Gelatin, among many others.

CONCLUSION

Akavar 20/50 leaves a lot of open questions- which really leads to concerns about both the product's effectiveness and impact on the body. With so many diet pills and supplements on the market, it is important for manufacturers to paint a detailed picture of the product to help consumers make the most educated decisions. Many diet pills and supplements provide all of the information that Akavar seems to have conveniently left out. It is also a little misleading that without diet and exercise you can still lose weight. Anyone who has ever committed to losing weight knows that without important changes to diet and exercise, results are often not achieved.

OK I understand that everyone's body is different and for some people it may not work but I'll tell you my story. I did the whole diet and ex. thing for 7 months... and I lost about 35 pounds. Then the next month I tried to lose more but I couldn't even working out more and eating better. So I starting taking Akavar about 6 days ago. I didn't think it was going to work but I figured why not try it. I'm down over 5 pounds already, I am working out as normal and eating healthy for breakfast and lunch. For dinner I eat whatever I want (have always done this for the whole time). If anyone wants to ask me about it and make sure I am a realy person (www.myspace.com/SPolgar).

I am getting married next March so i wanted to loose weight but not end up in the hospital trying to do it. I am in college for medical assisting and i knew something wasnt right.

I just tried this pill for the first time, but a lot of the things I agree with. I drink (seriously) about a gallon of water a day at work...6-8 20oz cups of water. Yes it does fill you up, but being a normal human being i to wanted to try this product. If it works it works, if it doesnt then ill just keep doing what im doing. I go to the gym Monday, Wednesday, and Friday every week for at least 2 hours, an walk for a full hour at steady pace, tuesdays and thursdays i walk my dog about 2 miles...another good tip is WALK...do NOT run...I am a physicians assistant studying Osteopathy (bones). Walk at a steady pace, not to slow...not to fast. It will take a little bit of time but if you walk about a mile a day, you WILL see results. I went from a size 13 to a size 4 JUST by walking and maybe lifting small weights here and there, but personal things happen therefore i gained back more weight so i was curious to try Akavar...and like I said, if it works, it workd...if it doesnt then back on the tredmill and back around town I go! Good luck to you all!

I just bought Akavar yesterday 3/30/08. After taking my first 2 pills yesterday I felt energized. I had dinner then felt completely satisfied. I had no desire to snack later. Today is my second day and for lunch I had special K cereal with a mini bagel. Once again I became full and had no desire to snack. I have not experienced any heartburn or other side effects besides not being able to fall asleep the first night till 1am. I love the energy boost so far. I'm 22, 144lbs and I try to watch what I eat. I workout about 4-5 times a week. I'll post in about a week to tell you my results. If any one wants to e-mail back and forth about their progress I would appreciate it. I hope these work!

I have been seriously trying to lose 30 lbs since February of 2008. I have reduced my caloric intake to 1200 - 1500 calories per day. I have also increased my excercise to 30 min of brisk walk per day. I have lost 8 lbs so far... but now I am famished all of the time!! My sister gave be some akavar to try...On day 1 I had a headache and lots of potty breaks! Day two slight headache...I still feel famished!! I will take it for a couple more days.... Not sure it is helping me... but my Mom & Sister swear by it!! I do feel like I have a little more energy.

I have been taking Akavar since middle November of last year. So far I have lost an amazing 60lbs! It says you can eat ANYTHING but I don't advise that. Common sense tells you go on a sensible diet along with this. This helps your diet and burning more calories than you consume and gives me a lot of energy :)

Idk if tis juss me or if my eating habits has changed but after 3 months of giving birth to my son, i went from 145lbs to 166lbs up until the day my son was born. With my son and all of the other stuff that came off on the day of deliverly, i lost about 15lbs all in that same day. then 3 months later i gained about 7lbs and was always stucked in between 157lbs and 159lbs. I went shopping around for diet pills and came across akavar, so far from the first day that i started using this pill, i went from 157/158lbs to 154.5/155.5lbs, and that was only within 3 days of using it. For some it might work but i guess for me the way that it SEEMS to be working is that I changed my eating habits, im asian so i usually eat my meals with rice everyday....and it was so hard to lose weight and then when i started to use this product i substitute the rice with a bowl of salad and w/e side i might have after the 15mins of taking the pills. within an hour after my meals i feel my stomach burning up the calories that was consumed and i've gained much energy but on the negative side have had some blurry visions and almost some dizziness when i exericise....so really for my opinion try it to see if it works but if it doesnt, theres always other options, though for myself i am going to give this product a whole month to see if there would be alil more effect on losing weight. so for everyone else, good luck!

i would give akavar 20/50 an 8 out of 10. for all of those who claim to be eating nonstop and gorging yourselves with food and eating more than you really should are STUPID. these pills arent miracle workers. they just aid you along your diet and goals to lose weight. granted some of the things that is printed on akavar says you can eat whatever you want to gain attention from people but theyre telling you that you DO NOT have to count colries and that you can eat pizza if you want and not have to worry. you can go to a buffet if you want but you stop when youre full - thats a given. you dont eat and eat and eat. for those who just dont know when to stop eating, perhaps you sohuld first try to fix your eating habits before you leave negative comments on diet pills. i tried alli and i give that about a 3 out of 10. i lost some weight but the side effects were horrible beyond anything whether iw as eating fatty foods or not plus i felt like iw as starving myself. Carb Intercept frm Natrol is a 9 out of 10. it does its job and i see results. i dont feel bad about being asian and eating my rice and noodles. ;o) and for the ladies i would recommend using akavar, carb intercept w/ phase 2, and slimquick w/ hoodia packets or pills. 15 minutes of exercise every other day and i guarantee you will see results. no matter what you do make sure you drink lots of water everyday.

This is my 2nd bottle. On the first, I did not loose any weight. One thing I like about this pill is as I am doing grave yard shift it help me keep awake and gives me lot of energy. Before even though how much I sleep during the day time it was difficult to keep awake at night. Sometime it was difficult to drive back home as I used to feel so sleepy. On this pill it’s like I am always active. When I bought 2nd bottle I decided to change my habit little bit. Now I will take 2 pills as soon I wake up and after 15 minutes I will eat. In between I would drink Hollywood diet juice. I am not fasting but drinking like any regular soda. Not finishing in 2 days but whole week. 15 minutes before lunch at work I take another 2 pills. I started doing some sit up at home and than I saw the result. In a week I lost 5 pounds and still loosing and feeling good. I am not drinking the diet juice all the time but every other week or once a month. This pill will not work if you keep eating junk food every hour. Some afford has to come from us. NO pill is miracle. And no body is same.

I don't know if I like the pills yet. I am on my sencond day and I have taken them when I am supposed to with the water and have waited...exactly the way they say. I feel crappy...very jettery...more than drinking 2 cups of coffee and even drinking 3 cans of MT. DEW which I have done plenty of times. I am kind of nausious. Well not kind of I am...as I type. I have the heartburn as well. I am also not in a very good mood. I don't know if it is just one of those days or what. I am generally a happy person and I rarely ever have bad mood days. But today is not good at all. I don't have a scale so I can't tell you if I loose weight or what not...I will give it a day or two more. And maybe only take 1 pill instead of 2 and see how that goes. But I don't like feeling like this. I also keep getting hot flashes here and there. And I'm only 23 so thats not normal...I don't know. Well see. I am hopefull, but I won't go through the side affects for weight loss.

I started taking Akavar 4 days ago. On the first day I had a mild headache, I could not finish what was on my plate at supper and two bites of ice cream was all that I could get through in the evening. Sleep that night did not happen. Day 2 the headache was gone, I cut back on coffee consumption to 1/2 cup and sleep returned. On the third day I began to feel more energized. On the evening of the third day I had a glass of wine and would caution anyone who may have a cocktail or two to be careful, I became quite inebriated with that one glass of wine, I believe it is because of the small amount of food intake I had during the day. Day four there is no weight loss showing on the scale however my face, hands and feet are looking have undergone a slight change. One chin seems to fading away. I am a female age 50, 140 lbs using Akavar to help me learn not to load my plate and and to assist me with triggering movement - to get off my hind quarters and move about. I think we should all remember that we should lose weight gradually. Weight gain happened over a long period of time so you cannot expect to lose your excess weight overnight. Slow, steady weight loss helps your body adjust to the amount of food you are eating. Don't look at this being a magic pill - I think it should be used a tool to motivate and assist us in getting started to achieve the results we are looking for: to be healthier, to be more energetic, wear smaller clothes, feel comfortable in a bathing suit, walk up stairs without losing breath, be able comfortably wear a seatbelt in the car, to fit into a theatre or airline seat. 2-5 pounds a month is a healthy amount of weight loss. A 10% weight loss is a good first goal. Whether or not you lose more, 5-10% weight loss is an important achievement! Good luck to each of you! PS Those under 18, please read the label it is not recommended for anyone under 18 (for obvious reasons there is alot of developmental needs and changes go on in your bodies - don't mess with that, or a couple of pounds won't be all of your worries!!!!

Hey Everyone..I'm 24 and weighed 195..Its only my 4th day and i noticed a change pretty quick..So anyone who wants an honest answer..Here it is.. I started taking Akavar 20/50 and about an hour or 2 after taking it i did get a slight headache and feel a little dizzy. However i hadn't eaten dinner, so i figured i'd have a few carrots..After the 3rd baby carrot i felt like i couldnt eat anymore! Weird i tell you.. So what i started doing was anytime i felt hungry i would drink 16 oz of water! Drinking lots of water helps a TON!! I tell you if you take this pill and watch what you eat somewhat and work out maybe 10-15 min you will see a MAJOR difference!! IT works!! I lost 5 pounds in the first 2 days and a total of 8 thus far..No lie! Just stay focused and believe...Good Luck to Everyone..I'll post back in 1 week!! ;)
