The rumors have been swirling for a while with regards to Kate Middleton and her weight, in preparation for her upcoming spring wedding ceremony. The tabloids have been reporting that Kate has followed the Dukan Diet, but the actual devotee to Dukan is Kate’s mom, Carole.
The elder Middleton, who is employed as a party planner, has been following the strict diet, which consists of several phases of no carb/low carb cycling since October. In the first four days, she reported to the UK’s Sunday Times that she had already lost four pounds.
Nicole Richie is kicking up her workout routine in preparation for her December wedding. Not only has she been hitting the gym, she’s also trying out a juice cleanse to look extra hot for future hubby Joel Madden. She’s been tweeting about her love of L.A.’s Pressed Juicery, and their Healthiest Juice Cleanse. The cleanse promises to deliver a brighter complexion and more energy, in addition to weight loss and clearing the body of toxins. She even tweeted the photo show here from behind the counter of the popular health spot.
According to RadarOnline.com, Richie is putting in some serious hours at Tracy Anderson Method Studios in Studio City, Ca. She’s been doing a variety of cardio workouts, includes boxing and dancing, plus a healthy dose of kicking and stretching. Other celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow, Courteney Cox, and Sharkira have also trained at the Tracy Anderson gym.
The new wedding weight-loss show, Shedding for the Wedding, is still looking for engaged couples who want to lose at least 50 pounds and get in shape for their big day. Sara Rue will host the show, herself a recent diet success story. She lost 50 pounds on the Jenny Craig system, and is sure to be an inspiration to the couples.
Engaged couples will compete to lose weight and win the wedding of their dreams. Individual challenges will be rewarded with smaller pieces of the marriage ceremony, like wedding bands or flowers.
The 5-Factor Fitness plan already has an intense celebrity following, from Lady Gaga to Miley Cyrus. Recent bride Hilary Duff is now joining the crew by following Harley Pasternak’s diet and fitness plan to be in perfect wedding-dress-flaunting form.
Pasternak is no stranger to pre-wedding celebrity clients, he’s also the mind behind Katy Perry’s wedding workout. “The key is to have amazing shoulders, amazing arms, posture is really important,” Pasternak explained. “But it’s also important to have a really tight midsection, because the way a wedding dress hugs your midsection, you really want it lean and tight.” (more…)
The biggest news all over the world this weekend is the wedding of President Clinton and Senator Clinton’s daughter Chelsea. While Rhineback, New York is abuzz with tight security and throngs of media-hungry paparazzi, vegans and locavores are celebrating as well.
Ms. Clinton has been a vegetarian for the past ten years and for her $2 million wedding this weekend, she is applying her plant-based eating preferences to the entire weekend-long lavish affair.
Clinton will be serving an all-vegan and gluten-free wedding cake to her 300 guests. According to Life and Style magazine, Chelsea does not tolerate gluten very well, the protein found in grains like wheat, rye, barley and oats that can cause an allergic reaction in those who can’t metabolize it.
In addition, she and her husband-to-be, Marc Mezvinsky, are sourcing all of the wedding’s fare from local Hudson Valley farmers. But it’s not going to be an entirely all vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free event. The beef that will be served for the dinner will be grass-fed and organic.

Here are 10 ways that brides can reduce stress before their big day:
1. Invest in a wedding planner. Yes, this costs money, but it is money well spent. A good planner will coordinate the big details, take care of the little details and let you enjoy your day.
2. Think small. If you can’t afford a wedding planner then aim to keep your wedding simple, and better yet, small. Small is intimate! (more…)
Kristy Swanson, who made her screen debut as Buffy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, wed her boyfriend over the weekend, Lloyd Eisler, a former Olympic figure skater. The couple met while filming Fox’s Skating with Celebrities.
Kristy was a picturesque bride, in an ivory gown and her hair perfectly placed. She credits Medifast with helping her lose 45 pounds in time for the wedding. She also follows a regular exercise regimen that includes martial arts, jumping rope and running the treadmill.
