As 2015 draws to a close, it’s time to reveal our annual most popular diets list! We use your searches* to determine which diets, programs, books, and supplements are the most talked about, researched, and used for the year and we have to say, there were a few surprises!
Which meal delivery diet really stands out in taste? For the fifth year in a row, Next Advisorheld its Diet Taste Test, which focuses on providing a better look at the most popular dieting services in the country. The goal is to learn how the food actually tastes to real people. This year, Jenny Craig was the big winner, beating bistroMD, who won 2014′s Taste Test.
The test is performed when a week’s worth of standard meals from each dieting group is consumed anonymously. A group of 12 men and women are asked to try the food, rating it on a scale of 1 – 10 for taste, as well as appearance. The tasters are unaware of which brand they are eating at the time, considering all labels are taken off before the tests are performed. The anonymous tasters tried food from bistroMD, Jenny Craig, The 17 Day Diet, Nutrisystem, and Diet-to-Go. The other factors taken into consideration for the test are price, customization, availability of fitness tools, strength, and availability of support provided to the consumer. Read Full Post >
When the 17 Day Diet debuted in 2010, it became an instant favorite, spending more than 75 weeks at the top of the New York Times best sellers list. When the Breakthrough Edition released in January 2014, it was massively popular. So popular, you chose the 17 Day Diet as the Most Popular Diet of 2014! With that kind of track record, we won’t be surprised when the latest update to the program, Body Breakthrough, becomes a chart topper as well.
Body Breakthrough is the brand-new, comprehensive digital diet program that takes what you already know about the 17 Day Diet and puts it (literally) in the palm of your hand.
The basis of the program is the same as the original. There are four 17-day cycles of the diet program. The first three are designed to help you develop healthy habits and lose weight. The fourth cycle is considered the maintenance phase, and is designed for those who have reached their weight loss goals.
It’s time to reveal our 2014 Most Popular Diets List, and this one even threw some surprises our way. It’s the seventh annual publishing of our list that started in 2008, and one of the few curated exclusively by the readers. That’s right, we use your traffic behavior* throughout the year to determine which diets, programs, books, pills, and the like are the most talked about, searched, and used for the year.
Here are the 25 Most Popular Diets of 2014 as determined by our readers:
We’re kicking off the new year with the same focus as most of you – to improve ourselves in the coming months. Whether that’s weight loss, more energy, or just cooking more healthful food at home, we’re taking on our new year changes one step at a time. And in the case of this General Slim’s chicken stir-fry makeover by 17 Day Diet — one bite and one cycle at a time!
The 17 Day Diet just nabbed a spot in the top five of our annual Most Popular Diets of the Year list, outranking Weight Watchers, Biggest Loser and Diet to Go. Most impressive, it’s been in thattop five since its debut three years ago when it was the number one diet of the year! Since that first self-published book from Dr. Mike Moreno, Simon and Schuster have bought the rights and worked with the man known casually as Dr. Mike to produce a series of books including a cookbook and an anti-aging plan. Before the clock struck midnight for 2014, the newest book in the series hit shelves – The 17 Day Diet Breakthrough Edition.
The best selling weight loss plan offers three new chapters focusing on subjects like whey protein, supplements, and even a fasting day. But the part we love most are the 50 new recipes! Some of your soon-to-be faves include Cream Light Fettucine Alfredo, Elegant Poached Salmon with Dill Sauce, Harvest French Toast, and even Mom’s Apple Pie.
This new stir fry recipe was our favorite from the book, hands down. Not only is it easy – as in so entirely not complicated you have no excuses not to make this! – but it also tastes amazing. Read Full Post >
