Money Hungry Takes on the Rose Bowl in Episode 7 Recap

I’m going to spare you the fluff this week and we will get right down to business. Last week on Money Hungry we saw Slenderellas and Flabulous make game play moves that lead to yours truly being placed on the chopping block. This week we get to see what happens once the gloves are off and alliances begin to crumble.

With the Family in shambles and the Orphanage actually looking strong once more, the challenge this week is of extreme importance. We see the contestants enter the Rose Bowl, and it is pretty obvious they aren’t there for a picnic. At the top of each set of stairs is a giant contraption meant to hold tiny footballs, 100 of them to be precise. Each teammate must grab as many balls as they can, run up the stairs, place them in the contraption and run back down to tag the other teammate. The team will all their balls placed in the contraption that then runs the big ball across the 50 yard line wins. (more…)

Money Hungry’s Puzzle Piece Relay Race in Episode 6 Recap

Welcome back to Money Hungry, the only show on television that combines strategy and famished overweight people! This week in the house we start to see the fallout from The Regulators choosing not to give out the immunity last week. A couple of the other “Family” teams, namely Slenderellas and Flabulous, both feel that they deserved (or dare I say needed) the immunity last week and felt spurned by not getting it. Phillip approaches the Orphanage about a deal to possibly vote with them, and we all know if it works out they’ll be pulling for yours truly! (more…)

Money Hungry Finds Temptation in Snookie’s Cookies

I remember it like it was yesterday. After the pool challenge I said to my partner, “I wonder when we are going to have an eating/strategy challenge.” Next thing you know, it is upon us! I’m jumping right to the challenge this week because a lot of the stuff from before in the episode (i.e. all of the family alliance teams being lazy) was just utter crap. Aside from one or two individuals, the family alliance was in the gym hardcore this, and every week. In fact, I ran a boxing circuit class for the family alliance in the time period of this episode of Money Hungry! (more…)

Immunity up for Grabs in Money Hungry Episode 4 Recap

This week on Money Hungry, things in the house were tense! Mission Slimpossible was on a rampage, upset at the Regulators that they did not vote with them. There was talk of a potential alliance between the two teams, but knowing Regulators I don’t believe that there was ever anything there more than the Regulators telling Slimpossible what they needed to hear. Money Hungry’s Chubby Chasers Game in Episode 3 Recap

Welcome to another installment of “As the World Tur….” Wait, wrong show? Oh yeah, Vh1’s Money Hungry! This week in the house things got heated from the get go.

Back from the elimination the other teams quickly figure out that it was Team No Excuses who changed our votes last week to try and backdoor team Grading Curves.

Because the house is so split this week, the challenge becomes greatly important. The challenged, called “Chubby Chasers,” is essentially a circular race track placed within a bull riding ring. Inside the track are five big ramps that you must run up and over, on your way to catching the team ahead of you. (more…)

Money Hungry Gets Down to Game Play in Episode 2 Recap

As the second episode of Money Hungry begins, we see quite a few of the contestants exercising and singing a little song. We hear about how well everyone is getting along and how tight the house is – talk about foreshadowing.

Watch the full recap video to hear my take on everything that happened in this episode, including the low-down on my crush on Jamie!

Money Hungry Premiere Recap with Contestant Josh Graston

Welcome to the premiere episode of Vh1’s Money Hungry. My name is Josh Graston, and I’m one of the show’s contestants from the Team No Excuses and I will be your guide in this exclusive journey into the world of Bet Dieting. So, with no further adieu, I welcome you to VH1’s Money Hungry.

At the very start of the episode we see the bus loaded with all of the cast trying to make it up the driveway, and our driver Jimmy informing us that we were going to have to walk up the driveway. The cameras did not do the driveway justice, I am here to tell you it was quite steep.

Next we meet our host Dan Cortese. I was genuinely excited that we had a host that I actually recognized, although I kind of wanted a female host. Dan explains the way that our $10,000 entry fee for the show works. The final two teams each receive their entry fee back, with the winning team taking home EVERYONE else’s money, for a grand total of $100,000. Right before we head into the house Dan tells us if we break anything we own it, foreshadowing at its best.

Quickly Kaitlyn and Phillip get the party started with bodyshots, giving us our first glimpse at the amazing sound effects featured on the show. Dan Cortese shows up shortly after and we meet each of the teams and find out their team names.

Losing it with Jillian – The Franklin Family

Image Via: NBC.com

On episode seven of Losing it with Jillian, we were introduced to the Franklin family, a Detroit family of four who are resistant to change.

Todd is the father who is overweight, a binge-eater and has weight-related sleep apnea. Amy, the mother, underwent gastric bypass surgery a few years back, but after her start-up business went into the red, she put back on the weight and started smoking again. Their two daughters, Lily and Chloe, are concerned over their parents’ health and don’t want to follow in their footsteps.

Jillian steps in to take back the reins with the Franklins. Unearthing jars of candy, packs of cigarettes and junk food in the kitchen pantry, Jillian does a clean sweep and delivers a strong message to the Franklins: Shape up or your health is going to continue to spiral out of control.

Losing It with Jillian – The Vivio Family

The fifth week of Losing It with Jillian might have been one of the best yet. While each is moving and motivating for their own specific reasons, this one had a lot of heart. Not to mention, no whining!

Most of the families we’ve seen so far have gotten into fights with star and trainer Jillian Michaels just minutes in to their first workouts. They give up quickly, complain about the pain and admit to not being capable of the work. Jillian calls their bluff everytime. However, with this week’s family, the Vivio family of Tennessee, there was not a moment of that. This family of four stepped up and took everything Jillian dished. And they’re better for it.

The main story of this week’s episode was the youngest son Elijah, who at only 14-years old weighed 330 pounds. He admits to Jillian that he’s the butt of fat jokes at school and wants to change he way people talk to him. He is visibly surprised when, during a one-on-one conversation, she admits to being an overweight teen as well. She shares how discovering martial arts helped her physically and emotionally. Elijah also shares that “What I really want out of this week is a better relationship with my father.” (more…)

Ruby Recap Season 3 Episode 11: The Thinner Child

In this special two-hour finale of Ruby, the show centers around Ruby and her friends in their six-day retreat.

Ruby’s counselor Tennie McCarty pretty much hits the nail on the head during the retreat, which she is hosting. Tennie looks at Ruby and Georgia as “little teeny boppers who don’t like to be told what to do.” Their protests and complaints about the retreat are immature.

Their attitudes are almost completely negative. I’m not sure what they expected from a six-day weight loss retreat, but it wasn’t going to be a pampering spa getaway.

Ruby Recap Season 3 Episode 10: Ruby Fires Back

This week on Ruby, she discusses her fears of not being able to protect herself after news of various crimes in her area. After the discussion with her friends, Ruby decides to take action.

Ruby’s friend Georgia took her to a shooting range. At first, Ruby was not exactly a natural. She was asking silly questions, and was overly worried about everything. But, then Ruby started getting competitive about the target practice. She also got a little deja vu at the shooting range. She felt like she had done it before.
