Oh, Kim Kardashian. That curvy, raven-haired reality TV star we can’t seem to get enough of. Especially the curves. Did we mention those?
While Kim may have been known for her shapely figure before giving birth to baby North last year, her post-baby body has drawn even more attention. After gaining 50 pounds during her pregnancy, she was able to shed the weight in merely six months and strutted her stuff in an itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny white bikini on the cover of US Weekly to celebrate.
She then reportedly lost another 20 pounds in advance of her Paris nuptials to Kanye West. With rumors flying of whether or not baby #2 will soon be on the way (and whether or not Kanye’s on board), we’re wondering if her weight loss successes affect her decision to get another bun in the oven as quickly as possible.
While she’s squashed recent binge eating rumors, we don’t exactly know what this famous yo-yo dieter is up to now. But if history repeats itself, we do know some of the ways she’s managed to not only keep, but improve her enviable figure in the past. (more…)
Although Khloé Kardashian has tried her share of lose-weight-quick dieting strategies in the past, she revealed that her diet before her first appearance as co-host of The X-Factor consisted only of making healthier eating choices the old-fashioned way.
The 28-year-old told People magazine after the show that she trimmed down ten pounds by reducing her intake of sweets as well as cheese, a personal favorite indulgence, and working hard not to binge eat. She tries to keep up with a consistent exercise program and is changing her diet slowly to make sure she can realistically keep it up.
Kardashian said she’s learned that crash diets do not work long term. “When I used to do things like crash diets or things too fast, it never stuck because it wasn’t a lifestyle change,” she told reporters.
The star posed for the cover of Life & Style magazine in May 2012 for an article about how she lost 20 pounds in 20 days. Although that’s over the recommended amount of weight loss in such a short period of time, Kardashian said she did it through healthy meals prepared by her chef and extended daily workout sessions with her husband and a personal trainer. Kim Kardashian along with two of her sisters are being sued for $5 million dollars for allegations the sisters and the makers of QuickTrim made false claims about the product’s weight loss effectiveness.
The Kardashian sisters had an endorsement deal with the supplement company. Their participation and the company itself came under attack when a lawsuit was filed in a New York federal court this week. The suit is on behalf of four plaintiffs from New York, California, and Florida.
The plaintiffs stated that the claims made by QuickTrim and their spokeswomen, the Kardashians, were “false, misleading, and unsubstantiated.” In addition, the suit stated that there was “no competent and reliable scientific evidence supporting any of these claims.”
According to the lawsuit, QuickTrim’s main ingredient is a large dose of caffeine and various herbal ingredients. It’s claimed that the supplement was never clinically proven as effective.
If it’s too good to be true, it probably is. With raspberry ketones being touted as the newest weight loss “miracle” it’s my job to weed through all the information and give you the facts. The fact is there are lots of online con artists feeding into the raspberry ketone craze. Here are some tips of how to recognize a scam product.
Step 1: Site Reliability
If you’re looking to purchase raspberry ketones what I imagine most people would do is a simple online search. Once you find a site where you can purchase the product, scroll down to the bottom and find out when the site was copyrighted or created. If it says 2012 it may just be someone trying to jump on the ketone bandwagon and may not be a reliable or legitimate site. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, websites like Amazon.com or Drugstore.com are established sites that are concerned with customer service and satisfaction. When Kourtney Kardashian was pregnant with her son Mason in 2009, she maintained a strict diet and gained a healthy 40 pounds, which she shed quickly after the birth using the weight loss supplement QuickTrim.
Kardashian recently confirmed that she is expecting her second child with longtime boyfriend Scott Disick and says that this time, her diet will be different.
“I’m just eating whatever I can,” Kardashian has said. “Whatever I can tolerate. I think this [pregnancy] there is less I can tolerate.”
While many nutrition experts agree that listening to your body is an important part of eating a healthy diet during pregnancy, it is still key to eat a variety of foods. Moms-to-be who have morning sickness, intense cravings or lack appetite may have a more difficult time getting the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals they need.
