See How the Stars are Dieting in 2015

Diet is the word of the season, no matter what you claim as your profession. Celebrities aren’t immune, and their diet proclivities make front-page news. Here’s how some of the biggest names have lost some of their winter pounds, whether living in the real world or prepping for the red carpet season ahead.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Though Paltrow does not have a need to lose weight — she has been deemed “Queen of the Cleanse” — she recently posted about her “annual deep cleanse.” Her annual diet consists of three meals and one snack and focuses on ridding your body of toxins in your system. No dairy, sweeteners, alcohol, caffeine, wheat, or any meat, including seafood.

Soleil Moon-Frye

We spoke with Frye recently about her incredible 23 pound weight loss, something she is very proud of. Frye lost the weight using Nutrisystem‘s My Way and Fast 5, programs that helped her keep on track after a third baby. The former Punky Brewster star looks great, and is happy to be able to eat whatever she likes!

Timothy Spall

Spall, the well-known Harry Potter actor who plays Wormtail, emerged at the Film Critics Circle Award quite a bit lighter. Spall credits his weight loss to the motivation of his wife, a personal trainer, and a huge change in his diet. Spall’s son has also recently celebrated a huge weight loss of his own.

Known best as the 80′s child star of Punky Brewster, Soleil Moon-Frye is back in the spotlight after losing 23 pounds. She credits Nutrisystem’s Fast 5 and My Way, a program she is emphatic about.

“It has just been amazing,” Frye gushed to DietsInReview.com this week. She went on to discuss how after having her third child, her baby weight was “just not coming off and I had to figure out a way to lose it!” Through a friend who had been using the program, Frye learned about Nutrisystem and hopped online to sign up.

“In the first week, I dropped five pounds and thought, ‘I can do this.’” The ease combined with the health benefits of the program kept Frye on track. Though she explains that some weeks she lost a pound or two, and other weeks it was a bit more, the fact that it was done in a healthy way was important. “I am able to eat all the things I love, and I am able to enjoy the things I eat,” Frye explained.

Leaning In to Get Lean: Meet the Rare Female CEOs in the Diet Industry

female-CEO

By Shae Blevins

The 2014 Fortune 500 List included 24 female CEOs – the most in history – and the United States elected a record-setting 100 women to the 113th Congress. Women are making their move!

But a lack of female leadership is still evident in the industry that targets American women most: Wellness. That’s the $20 billion industry that encompasses diet, fitness, and weight loss. It’s an industry where 85% of the consumers are women, and the grand majority of executive leadership — from CEOs to boards — are male. That’s right, there are dudes perched at the brands that prominently lead the industry – from the girl-powered Jillian Michaels to the all-inclusive Weight Watchers.

Fortunately, there are a few brands breaking the industry norm with female CEOs. It’s been two years since industry giant Nutrisystem appointed its first female CEO, and the brand is seemingly better for it. And most recently, Retrofit replaced its CEO with a woman. One feather in this hat was lost last December, when Dana Fiser left her two-year reign as CEO at Jenny Craig.

Meet the three shining female stars blazing trails in wellness:

Nutrisystem or Jenny Craig: Which Diet is Right for You?

By Shae Blevins

Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig are two of the most popular diets around, and at first glance they sound pretty similar: Both deliver pre-made, pre-calorie-counted, pre-everything meals to your door. Both offer online tools and one-on-one support. Both offer plans designed to fit your lifestyle and your health challenges. Both have celebrity spokespeople singing their praises.

But there are also some definite differences between the two plans. Paying attention to these can help you choose which will work best for you.

This chart shows how Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig stack up next to one another in all of the areas that matter, from food and tools to the oh-so-important question of cost:
