Titanic’s re-release Wednesday was an excellent opportunity for Kate Winslet to look back at herself, 15 years ago. It was also an opportunity for the rest of us to look back and see how much she has changed.
Winslet told the DailyMail, “We do look very different, we’re older. Leo’s 37, I’m 36-we were 21 and 22 when we made that film. You know, he’s fatter now-I’m thinner.”
Although the actress was teasing her co-star, she makes a valid point. She is thinner now than she was back then.
When Titanic first came out, it catapulted Kate into stardom, which also meant her weight became everyone’s business. Her struggle with her weight became as famous as the movie itself. But now, she has achieved a figure she is happy with and can look back with a smug smile.
She can also smile because she didn’t let Hollywood dictate her weight while she was struggling. GQ Magazine sent her an apology after they digitally altered her pictures to make her look thinner.

There are just a few more hours before the red carpet is rolled out and Hollywood’s top stars strut down the walk of fame for this year’s Golden Globe awards. As the cameras roll and pictures are captured, the stars want to be looking their best. Check out what some of the top contenders do to stay “red carpet fit.”
Funny man Ricky Gervais will be hosting this year’s Golden Globes again. While his zingers are what gain him the most attention, he has been noticed for his weight loss this year too. Gervais has dropped about 20 pounds recently. He credits his girlfriend for the success. While attempting to lose weight herself, she began cooking healthier for them both. In addition, Gervais began running. So the tried and true combo of exercising more and eating less has made Gervais ready to look trim in his tux as he notoriously slams celebrities on Sunday night.
The nominees for best performance by an actor in a motion picture include many “A-List” actors including George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Brad Pitt. These screen veterans are no strangers to the lime light and they tend to make sure they are camera fit at all times.
George Clooney stays fit by following a balanced diet. He eats high protein foods, lots of fruit and vegetables, and keeps his fat and carb intake low. Clooney’s exercise routine includes aerobics and yoga. Clooney does 90 minute Bikram, or “hot yoga” sessions, even while filming. The hot yoga can speed up metabolism and burn fat faster.

This isn’t earth-shattering news, but I’ve always thought of Kate Winslet as a pretty woman. I just used to see her as cute in the bookish kind of way. However, somewhere along the way she turned into a downright knockout. It’s not like I’ve followed her that closely, but it seems like she’s played into the Vogue cover thing more in recent years.
By Hollywood standards, she has spent some time with a less-than-perfect weight. By that I mean, probably 5-10 pounds above a rail. These days, she can hold her figure up with the best of them. So what’s her secret? It’s pretty simple, actually.
“I don’t go to the gym because I don’t have time, but I do Pilates workout DVDs for 20 minutes or more every day at home,” Winslet tells the UK edition of Elle.
Winslet also says that she eats sensibly, with the very English assertion that she doesn’t “stuff down chocolate biscuits.”
She’s also had a bit of a sexy makeover, with a sleeker hairstyle. And there’s talk of some plastic surgery work done (a nose job). I’m not a gossip hound by any stretch, so maybe this is public knowledge.
