Jillian Michaels’ Favorite Snacks

michaels holding a bag of popchipsGrabbing a snack is a great way to keep hunger at bay, but what you pick can make a big difference to your waistline. Celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels reveals her favorite snacks for an afternoon pick-me-up or mid-morning nibble. “These snacks are quick, easy and they all taste good,” says Michaels. “They’re preservative-free, contain no trans fats, MSG, high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners.”

  1. Hard-boiled egg and a piece of fruit. Fruit is a great source of vitamins and fiber, while the egg offers protein and healthy fat.
  2. Veggies and hummus. “This is an incredibly healthy snack that’s filling and tasty,” Michaels says. That’s because the fiber from the vegetables and the protein in the chickpeas both promote fullness. If you’re worried about the preservatives and sodium in some store-bought brands of hummus, check out our katamata olive hummus recipe! (more…)

Oikos Greek Yogurt Wins Healthiest Super Bowl Ad of 2026 [VIDEO]

Buzz is building for the 2026 Super Bowl ads before we even know who will compete in Indianapolis. Trend watchers say that pets and sex will continue to sell to the largest TV-viewing audience of the year; more people will watch than will vote in November.

While most are tuning in to watch the final football game of the NFL season, many are watching solely for the commercials. Last year, the healthiest thing about those ads was Jillian Michaels’ appearance in the GoDaddy. This year, we’ve found one healthy food item being advertised amongst a gluttonous roster of chips, beer, and soda.

Dannon’s Oikos Greek Yogurt will make its Super Bowl debut this year, and will win MVP for healthiest product advertised. With only 120 calories for a 5.3-ounce serving, there are no more ingredients in Oikos than are necessary. John Stamos will present Oikos in the commercial as “possibly the best Greek yogurt in the world,” and stats will say blind taste-testers prefer Oikos 2-to-1 against Chobani. Organic sugar, organic blueberries, organic elderberry juice, organic nonfat milk, and five cultures are all it takes to make these slender cup of yogurt.

Go Ahead Talk: Some Gossip Can Offer Health Benefits

Many of us are bashing Paula Deen for her diet choices, raking Mitt Romney over the coals for acting like every other politician, or clamoring over reasons why Jillian Michaels decided to leave The Doctors. You might be shaking your head if you are one of the rare Americans who doesn’t really care who has diabetes, or who lied to the media, or who is keeping their personal decisions private. But, according to scientists from the University of California in Berkeley, gossip may be good for our health.

Gossip is defined as idle talk or rumor about the personal or private affairs of others. Gossip is also referred to as tattling or reporting someone who was caught in the act of doing something wrong. Often times we tell ourselves to leave it be, because our grandmother told us that if we don’t have anything nice to say about others we should just not say anything at all.

The scientists of UC Berkeley set up several trials with volunteers to test the mental and physical effects of gossiping. Subjects were asked to watch two people playing a game, one of which who cheated. Subjects then had the decision to either let the next player know he or she was going to be playing with a cheater, or just let it pass. Results indicated that voicing the incidence of wrongdoings by others actually made them feel better by lowering their heart rates and calming their anxiety about the matter.

Jillian Michaels Teams with President Clinton in Health Conference

On January 17, America’s favorite tough-love trainer Jillian Michaels is joining President Clinton for his foundation’s health conference entitled Health Matters: Activating Wellness in Every Generation, held in Indian Wells, California. It is the Clinton Foundation’s first conference devoted exclusively to health and well-being issues.

The conference will also be the first major event during the week of the Humana Challenge PGA Tour golf tournament. The conference will include other high-profile health advocates, including celebrity chef Lorena Garcia, health and wellness advocate Notah Begay III, and Susan Dell of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.

President Clinton has joined his daughter Chelsea (who will also be in attendance) in adopting a vegan lifestyle, a stark contrast to the fast food and junk food he was known to favor during his years as president and earlier in life. After quadruple bypass surgery in 2004 and stent surgery in 2026, it’s not difficult to understand his new-found resolve. (more…)

Jillian Michaels’ Adoption Referral Could Mean More Stress for the Fitness Star

One of the most exciting parts of the adoption process is determining which child will be referred to you, well, besides when the new child gets to join your family and home. Jillian Michaels is in the midst of that moment, announcing that she has accepted a referral for a little girl in Haiti. I wonder if this is behind her seemingly sudden departure from the Doctors, although there has been no confirmation of that. From what I am reading she is still pursuing an adoption in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), but she was concerned about the viability of the pilot program with the agency she has chosen.

While Jillian is not working with MLJ Adoptions, Inc. where I am Director of Adoption Preparation and Support Services, we have an active program in DRC and have worked in Haiti in the past.

Following acceptance of a referral, several things must occur with some variation based on the country program and the agency who is facilitating an adoption. Jillian has stated that her adoption in Haiti could take a year before her new daughter is able to join her home. Historically, Haiti has had a wide time variance in the time that it takes to complete an adoption. Until Hague becomes a reality for Haiti that variance is likely to continue. Jillian can count on specific steps that must occur prior to the finalization of her adoption, even if she does not know exactly how long they will take.

There is a legal process in country, an application to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services for a visa for the child, and the passport must be obtained. Many times there is also an investigation to ensure the child is an orphan and additional exit approvals that must be obtained. Those few basic milestones are very detailed and can require several appointments, signatures, and months for each. (more…)

Jillian Michaels Leaves The Doctors Half Way Through Her First Season

In true “here today, gone tomorrow” fashion, Jillian Michaels has left the cast of The Doctors. She has been a part of the cast for less than half of a season and, as the only non-physician on the show, served as their fitness expert.

Michaels, who was well known as the “in your face” female trainer for many of the eleven seasons of The Biggest Loser, has decided that she will no longer be a series regular for the syndicated show, which focuses on health and wellbeing. She had previously announced a desire to start a family and given that as her reason for departing from The Biggest Loser. She released this statement concerning her time on The Doctors:

“This January I will be departing my role as a regular co-host on THE DOCTORS.  I have enjoyed my time on the show and the opportunity it provided me in my mission to help others improve their lives.  Although it wasn’t the fit both the show and I hoped for, it was a great experience and I wish the show nothing but success.”

Beyonce Minimizes Pregnancy Weight Gain with Vegan Diet and Exercise

As Beyonce, who is expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z any time now, remains committed to a mostly-vegan pregnancy diet. The actress and singer, who is also a part of Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Campaign, has been outspoken about her past use of The Master Cleanse to prepare for the movie Dream Girls.

Contrary to celebs like Jessica Simpson, who signed a $3 million dollar contract to lose her baby weight with Weight Watchers, and Jennifer Lopez, who shared her post-pregnancy diet secrets, Beyonce hasn’t yet spoken up about her post-baby plans. In the meantime, she and Jay-Z have remained committed to eating a healthy diet to avoid excessive baby weight gain.

“I’ve been really conscious [about food],” Beyonce told 20/20. “I’ve been trying my best not to lose control.” Instead of indulging in stereotypical pregnancy junk food cravings, the couple has been eating balanced meals that include stir-fried vegetables and tofu.

Along with her healthy diet, Beyonce has remained active throughout her pregnancy, which is important for any mom who wants to avoid excessive pregnancy weight gain. (more…)

17 Day Diet Dethrones Weight Watchers as the Most Popular Diet in 2026

We’ve published our Most Popular Diets of the Year* list every December since 2026, and one brand has held on to the number one position that entire time. Until this year. In 2026 the 17 Day Diet jumped ahead of Weight Watchers. With one million copies sold, a Spanish version, a workbook, and a cookbook publishing March 2026, it’s no surprise that Dr. Mike Moreno’s 17 Day Diet was the most talked about weight loss program this year.

Weight Watchers maintained a strong position in the top 10, thanks in part to the new PointsPlus program and impressive endorsement from Jennifer Hudson.

Jillian Michaels has the most products on our list of 20, with three of her personal brands’ products holding positions in the top ten. She might have left The Biggest Loser, but her appeal is as big as ever. (more…)

Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels Reunite on The Doctors

Tune in Thursday, November 17, 2026 to see Bob Harper reunite with Jillian Michaels for an episode of The Doctors.

Michaels’ long time partner on NBC’s The Biggest Loser, Harper will be putting her against her co-host Dr. Travis Stork in a Cross Fit competition. Cross Fit is the very effective strength and conditioning program used by many law and armed forces for training. The program is also used to train many elite athletes. Tune in to see if Dr. Stork can hold his own against Michaels as Bob Harper goes into full training mode and surely shows them no mercy.

Watch now as Bob does the “WOD,” or Workout of the Day, with Jillian and Dr. Travis Stork.

CrossFit’s Workouts of the Day are daily workouts posted on their website you can complete with minimal equipment or access to a fitness facility. They can include anything from pushups, rope climbs, pull ups and rowing machine relays, with the whole focus on completing the workout in the fastest time possible for you, or complete the most reps you can to do your personal best. Even if you take a CrossFit class where you are completing your WOD with a group of other people, your whole goal is to do you best and compete against yourself, which leaves room for others to encourage you along the way to push your hardest.

You can do The Doctors WOD at home. Do each of the following exercises for 30-seconds each, and repeat the circuit six times.

  • Box Jumps- 30 seconds
  • Sumo Deadlift High Pole- 30 seconds
  • Push Press- 30 seconds
  • Ball Slams- 30 seconds

Repeat this workout 6 times.
