Everyone’s favorite pint-sized Jersey Shore star, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, is showing off her slender post-baby body just one month after giving birth to son Lorenzo Dominic LaVelle on August 26.
The star stepped out with friends over the weekend in a figure-hugging black and animal-print dress. Though she was reportedly adverse to breastfeeding at first, she’s now embracing it for the sake of Lorenzo’s health and as a means to slim down.
Snooki, 24, has been active on Twitter about her weight loss since giving birth. On September 21, the star tweeted, “exactly why I’m at the gym right now #postbabyworkout …#FatPig.” Earlier that day she wrote, “can’t wait to start walking again!”
It seems Snooki is enthusiastic about getting her pre-baby body back quickly, and has wasted no time getting back to work as a new mom. The star is currently filming the MTV Jersey Shore spin-off Snooki & JWOWW, which she mentioned on Twitter is the reason she uses a pump now instead of breastfeeding naturally. (more…)

The news that Jersey Shore’s Snooki is pregnant has people asking questions about the impact of eating disorders on pregnancy and post-natal weight loss. Every individual is different and how they have (or have not ) processed and healed from the eating disorder will determine how and to what degree they manage the weight gain of pregnancy and weight loss after the child is born.
Snooki has admitted to a dangerous bout of anorexia during high school. She has used the unbalanced Cookie Diet to help her lose weight and seems to continue to lower her goal weight. Eating disorders impact two major aspects of pregnancy – weight gain and lack of control. Weight gain may be more obvious, but despite all our efforts much about what pregnancy does to a woman’s body and how a pregnancy evolves is outside of our control.
A clearly caring eating disorders treatment specialist Christel Parker, LMFT stated, “while pregnant, women who have struggled with eating disorders often share how their changing bodies, hormones and weight gain can ramp up symptoms of their illness. That said, being pregnant and having a child can be an unparalleled motivator in the recovery process. I’ve seen many times how this motivation develops into courage and strength throughout pregnancy and after giving birth.” While pregnancy can complicate the major issues involved in an eating disorder, pregnancy can also provide the existential motivation for a women to change behaviors and find healing, placing the health of her child ahead of her own health.
Jersey Shore’s season four debuted last night with 8.8 million viewers, making it the most-watched MTV premiere ever. The show is getting back to its roots, shooting in Italy.
Most of the Jersey girls have publicly lost weight as the show’s success skyrocketed, but none have had quite the dramatic transformation as Jenni “JWOWW” Farley. There have been no official reports if JWOWW has lost weight recently, however she appears dramatically thinner. She did report losing 20 with the help of Abdominal Cuts Natural Supplements, which she also endorsed. UPDATE 1/5/2012: Snooki is continuing to drop the pounds, reportedly weighing in now at 103 pounds, just 5 shy of her 98 pound goals. Polizzi is still using Zantrax and most would agree she is being paid for her promotion of the diet pills, with tweets like “Glad to hear reports that say I look good =) but it’s not because of HCG! Thanks @Zantrex!”
Snooki has lost so much weight it is spurring rumors that her eating disorder has reared its head again. Hopefully Snooks is following healthy habits in 2012, and her weight loss is healthy- well, as healthy as can be on a diet pill regimen.
Nicole Snooki Polizzi, better known simply as Snooki, weighed a reported 126 pounds last summer while indulging in a lifestyle afforded to her as a member of the popular show on MTV, Jersey Shore.
Since then she has shaped up somewhat, taking her tiny 4′ 10″ frame down to around 110 pounds. Before her recent departure to Italy for the filming Jersey Shore’s fourth season, pictures of a slimmer Snooki were revealed through her Twitter account.
It was revealed last year that Snooki struggled with an eating disorder in high school.
“In high school, I really wouldn’t eat,” she says. “I would only have lunch, and I would only have salads.” She dropped to a dangerous 80 pounds before realizing she had to do something about it. (more…)
