Diet and Fitness Secrets of Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Hudson, and Other Sexy Celebs

We’re always attuned to what’s going on in the celebrity realm, especially when it’s relating to diet and fitness. It’s kind of our thing, after all.

In a recent interview with health contributors Joy Bauer and Jill Martin, The Today Show gave the insider scoop on the diet and fitness habits of some of Hollywood’s most beautiful stars, including Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Hudson and Scarlett Johansson.

The first star to make the list? Songstress and actress Jennifer Hudson, who’s maintained an 80-pound weight loss that took her from a size 16 to a size 6. We must admit, she looks stunning!

Hudson has been a spokesperson for Weight Watchers for quite some time now and sings the praises of the diet company’s approach to health. When it comes to fitness, Hudson’s trainer says while she’s not much of a gym buff she enjoy working out. During a typical session, Hudson will perform moves like squats, sit-ups and even jump rope, which Martin says is one of the most underrated exercise out there.

Gym Playlist of the Week: 2012 Grammy Award Winners

Last night, music’s biggest stars walked the red carpet and filled the hall for the 54th Grammy Awards. It was a night full of big names, questionable wardrobes, and memorable performances.

Hands down the night belonged to Adele. The 23-year old singer took home an award for all six categories she was nominated for. She has now tied Beyonce for the most awards won by a female artist in one night. In addition to winning six Grammys, Adele gave a stunning performance of “Rolling In The Deep.” This was her first public performance since her risky vocal chord surgery a few months ago. According to critics and the overflow from social media, Adele and her simple gown and simple stage set-up trumped all the light shows and dance routines of the night.

The show was heavy on performances last night, twice as many performances as awards. Among the performers were Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, Glen Campbell, Bruno Mars, Foo Fighters, Katy Perry, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj. Some gave great performances, some gave OK performances, and many are still trying to figure out how to label Nicki Minaj’s odd on-stage exorcism.

Jennifer Aniston, known for her flawless skin and yoga-sculpted body, was voted best workout buddy and health inspiration.

In a survey at Fitness Magazine, the actress trumped Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon, Sofia Bergara, Cameron Diaz and Blake Lively, but she wasn’t the only celebrity who placed. The survey poll results ranked Jennifer Hudson as Best Diet Spokesperson, Britney Spears as Best Career Makeover, and Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge for the Best Celeb Wardrobe.

Aniston was recognized for her ability to inspire people to work out, which is not surprising to those familiar with her diet, beauty and body routine. Aniston, who has been linked to The Zone Diet and Yogalosophy works out with Mandy Ingber. The Stir has reported that when Aniston is shooting a movie, she wakes up at dawn to work out for two hours per day, which includes yoga and time on the elliptical trainer or treadmill.

Why We Are Drawn To And Repelled By Celebrity Weight Loss Stories

As we hurtle toward 2012, you may be feeling inspired and resolute to make this new year a new chance to create the life that you have always wanted or to improve on the life in which you already find so much joy. As we turn the calendar to an entirely new year, it seems easier to find hope and believe in possibilities. Unfortunately, experience has shown us how powerful habits can be, and despite our purest resolutions, most of the time our goals lose momentum before January ends. It is important to find the accountability or inspiration that can keep you on track to achieve whatever goals you have resolved to obtain in 2012.

Some find celebrity weight loss stories to inspire them to begin or stick with their own weight loss journeys. A 15-year old boy from Mississippi named Kris was inspired to drop his weight by Patrick House, winner of Season 10′s Biggest Loser. When Jennifer Hudson lost 80 pounds using Weight Watchers, her story was very popular, even inspiring a guess appearance on Oprah. As reality television stars, Patrick and Jennifer may be more capable of inspiring us because it is easier for us to relate to them than it might be to relate to other successful celebrities. If we are able to identify with someone who has faced a similar challenge, we believe that we can experience similar results.

Writer Chamein Canton explains that her 60 pound weight loss “wasn’t inspired by Jennifer Hudson, Kirstie Alley, Valerie Bertinelli, Marie Osmond or anyone else. They were more frustrating to me than anything else because they could afford to take care of themselves with nutritionists, personal chefs, personal trainers and all of the other accoutrements that come with celebrity.” Chamein did not identify with the emotional struggles of temptation and habit change of these famous women because she saw the resources at their disposal. Despite these resources, we have watched celebs like Kirstie Alley and Oprah yo-yo gaining and losing weight over and over just like so many others who struggle with weight. This can be another aspect that helps us identify with a particular celebrity and his or her weight loss journey.

Jennifer Hudson to Write Weight Loss Memoir

Jennifer Hudson has been seen in all sorts of advertisements for her weight loss success while using Weight Watchers. She has managed to lose 80 pounds using Weight Watchers and now she will write a book showcasing her weight loss journey.

This book will not only share Hudson’s tips for losing weight, it will also talk about her past with unhealthy eating habits and how she has overcome them. It’s obvious that the publishers of her upcoming book believe it will sell. There are a couple of reasons that I happen to agree that Jennifer Hudson’s weight loss memoir will be a success. The first is she seems more like an everyday person than a celebrity. She’s struggled with her weight like so many people, yet she was able to lose it and is working hard to keep it off.
