“Long-term health and fitness is about the quality of food we eat and exercise we get, not the quantity.” This is how Jonathan Bailor sums up the research found in his new book, “The Smarter Science of Slim. Scientific Proof. Fat Loss Facts!” The book is full of research that points to so many flaws in our current beliefs on dieting and exercise. It’s research that men and women around the country have been relying on to help them finally breakthrough their weight loss; it’s also been assisting former Biggest Loser contestants after they leave the infamous ranch.
A catchy line throughout the book and the press info regarding the book is “eat more, exercise less.” It isn’t a catchy marketing line for Bailor to sell a diet pill, a weight loss device, or even a plan, it sums up the science and research he presents in the book.
Bailor explained that the science in his book is “shockingly different from marketing and common dieting myths.” It shows that the key to long-term fat loss and improved health is in the consumption of satisfying, unaggressive, nutritious foods like water-, fiber- and protein-rich non-starchy vegetables, nutrient-dense proteins, and whole food natural fats. When we eat this way, he explains that we’re too full for dry, low-fiber, and protein-poor starches and sweets, like bread, candy, cake, soda, and juice. (more…)
Jay made a big comeback on the ranch after being eliminated in week seven. He’s proved his determination in the face of adversity. On the other hand, Irene lost her teammate and support system when her mother was eliminated in the very first week. She also struggled with self-esteem issues, but managed to work though her emotional challenges to become the first woman to lose over 100 pounds in this season. Will Irene make the cut for the first all-female finale? Or will Jay edge Irene out?

Season 11 of the Biggest Loser has already generated a lot of buzz, thanks in part to crew members going on strike during the show’s filming. Happily, the disagreements were resolved, and we’re looking forward to the show’s premiere on January 4th at 8:00.
The biggest news of all, Jillian says this is her last season.
Season 11 is the fourth season of The Biggest Loser to feature couples, but like season 10, you can be sure there will be some new surprises. However, the tough-love trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper will still be pushing contestants to their limits, while the lovely Alison Sweeney will host.
The definition of “couples” on The Biggest Loser isn’t limited to those who are romantically involved, as contestants include a mother-daughter team and twin brothers. All of the 22 contestants will compete to lose weight and shape-up, facing down emotional baggage and ridding themselves of unhealthy habits.
The heart and soul of the Biggest Loser house might reside within Jay Kruger. He’s the house sweetheart- but is not to be underestimated. He drops real weight every week, gives more than 100% in every workout and isn’t afraid to stand up to big brother Mark or anyone else. It’s obvious that these Boston-bred brothers are working through some issues, but it’s no doubt they’ll leave thinner and repaired.

Week 12 Weight 206 lb.
Hometown New Bedford, MA
Occupation Aerial Devise Account Manager
Biggest Loser Couples teammate Mark

Alliances Big brother Mark takes top priority. He definitely has room in his big heart for all the other guys as well.
Jay-isms He’s a softer, gentler kind of man. Definitely in touch with his feelings and isn’t ashamed to show it. He and Mark have shared some tearful, emotional moments during Biggest Loser Couples- and will likely leave campus with a significantly stronger relationship than before. His bean-town accent completes that all-American-boy charm.
Our Favorite Moment(s) – Replaced his theater masks tattoo with a bolder “family crest” that incorporates PRIDE!
– That fedora in Vegas
– Not letting Mark’s absence get the better of him in Week 10
Other spellings: Jae, J, Jaye Biggest Loser Jae, Jae Biggest Loser, Biggest Loser Black Team
