For several seasons the contestants have relied on a partnership with Brita’s Filter For Good program to help them hydrate and save the planet.

All contestants, trainers, and other Biggest Loser staff receive Filter For Good Nalgene bottles (BPA-Free!) and keep those filled with refreshing water via Brita pitchers and faucet mounts found throughout the house and gym. This helps the campus save literally tens of thousands of bottles of waters each season, and prevent all that waste from hitting our landfills.

They also keep the filters from going to waste through a partnership with Preserve, which recycles the filters for creating things like toothbrushes and cutting boards.

All this season, DietsInReview.com and Brita are offering you a chance to get a Brita pitcher and a Filter For Good bottle of your own. One Biggest Loser Newsletter subscriber will be chosen each Thursday to receive a pitcher and bottle, plus weekly updates from Biggest Loser including:

While they won’t be used on campus, this year Brita has introduced a new green pitcher, which will brighten any refrigerator as you stay hydrated and go a little greener.

Over the next few weeks, we are going to discuss the importance of stretching. Today, the topic is focused on self stretching.

Wedding Season Week 8:

“Learn to relax. Your body is precious, as it houses your mind and spirit. Inner peace begins with a relaxed body.” (Norman Vincent Peale)

Tip: Remember to warm-up and cool down before and after your workouts. I understand that it takes time away from the actual workout, but it’s worth it.

Week 8 Wedding Fitness Plan (Self Stretching):

Stretching is a very important topic and I strongly recommend that you stretch before and after your workout routines. Stretching has been proven to reduce the risk of injury, increase joint range of motion, reduce muscle tension, increase circulation of blood throughout the body, and increase energy levels. These are only a few of the benefits of stretching though.

Below are a few of my favorite stretches and I recommend that you hold or maintain each stretch for two 20 second counts with a five second count of relaxation between each 20 count.
