Gunnar Peterson Reveals the Secrets to Jennifer Lopez’s Booty Workout

Jennifer Lopez is an accomplished dancer, actress, singer, American Idol judge and style icon but let’s face it, she’s also known for her fabulous figure, including that curvy backside. She may have been blessed with super star genetics but diet and exercise play an important part in maintaining her great shape. If you want to reshape your derriere, grab some hand weights and be prepared to squat – a lot.

Gunnar Peterson, a personal trainer who put JLo through grueling workouts for nearly 10 years, says the key to changing the shape of the butt is to tone and tighten. The most successful workouts to target this area are squats and lunges. Adding weights increases the intensity of the workout and ultimately, the results.

Gunnar suggests starting with dumbbell weights and sit-down squats. Once that exercise gets easier, switch to kettle bell weights and do a split-squat or twisting lunges from different angles to target the butt muscles, obliques and lower body. The key is not letting your body get too used to one exercise. Keep switching it up to surprise your muscles and target as many as you can. Also, be sure to add in 30 minutes of cardio a day. Whether it’s a brisk walk, elliptical machine or even a jog in your neighborhood, anything that raises your heart rate is a good choice.

Timberwolves Forward Kevin Love Uses the NBA Lockout to Drop 25 Pounds

Many were wondering if there would even be an NBA season this year. The player’s lockout lasted longer than expected, but the now shortened season is underway and fans couldn’t be happier. While the lockout was frustrating, it looks like one player took advantage of his extra off time to drop weight and get in the best shape of his life. Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love returned to the court nearly 25 pounds lighter this season.

Love played for UCLA in college and was drafted in 2008 to the NBA. Coming in a 6’ 10”, Love has always been one of the biggest players on the court. This summer Love decided to make some changes to his size for his performance’s sake. He admits he never felt he needed to lose weight, he just wanted to be a better conditioned athlete.

Part of that conditioning included changing his diet. Love relied on ZEN Foods to provide him with the calories and nutrients he needed during his intense conditioning. How the New Charlie’s Angels Keep Fit and Trim

With every fall season comes an onslaught of new television shows that hope to gain your interest as a viewer. One of the most anticipated shows is a remake of an old television classic, Charlie’s Angels.

When looking at a show like this, one can’t help but wonder what the stars do to stay fit. The new version of the show stars Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh and is based in Miami. Each of the characters has a back story that includes a lifestyle of physical fitness, so it’s only fitting to look at what the actresses that play them do to stay in shape.

Minka Kelly often speaks about her fitness regimen. She trains with celebrity personal trainer Gunnar Peterson. She recently revved up her fitness routine specifically for this role. One of her fitness secrets is standing ab work using weights. Her workouts include helpful toning exercises with weights that work the entire body and puts in time on the treadmill doing an interval running routine to get her heart pumping. As far as nutrition goes, Minka tries to eat a sensible diet that includes egg whites and oatmeal for breakfast, a salad with protein for lunch and fish and veggies for dinner. Since she believes you should not deprive yourself, once in a while Minka will indulge in a cheeseburger with fries.

Vanessa Minnillo Works with Gunnar Peterson to Shape Up for Her Wedding Day

The story goes something like this: girl meets boy, girl falls in love with boy, boy asks girl to marry him, girl says yes and then immediately goes on a crash diet to lose weight before her wedding. This trend is so popular that there have been many television shows about brides-to-be and their search for physical perfection, such as Shedding for the Wedding. Although this seems to be the way that it usually goes, it is not the case for Vanessa Minnillo, whose boyfriend of five years, Nick Lachey, proposed to recently.

“I want him to see the girl he fell in love with,” Minnillo said of her plans for losing weight for her big day. “I want to stay true to who I am, but, you know, a better version.”

Minnillo plans on improving her body by using a five-meal-a-day delivery service and working out three times a week with her personal trainer, instead of using a crash diet.  She trains with personal-trainer-to-the-stars, Gunnar Peterson, who also is the creator of the Core Secrets workout DVDs.
