The Biggest Loser Marathon in the Season 10 Episode 12 Recap

Ohhhh it’s the final four, marathon week, and more!

Everyone heads home for their “reveals.” Let me tell you, it is so weird to sit in that car and wait to reveal your new self to your family and friends. I am sure it is much different when you are going home as a final four than when you go home “eliminated,” but I think no matter how you get home it’s completely nerve-wrecking! (more…)

So this week Alison drops the bomb that the deadly RED line is back and that two people are going home, which will whittle down the house to the final four. Every time that red line rears its ugly head everyone in the house goes BANANAS! You see crazy workouts, crazy focus and attention to every morsel. It really takes everything up a few notches. Even Bob and Jillian get the red line fever and they start making every single rep a last chance workout. (more…)

Makeover Week Recap for Biggest Loser Season 10 Episode 10

So this week was the ever anticipated makeover week on the Biggest Loser. It is when all the guys who have chowchillas growing on their faces get a clean shave and get a little metro and the girls get an awesome celeb touch of highlights and hotness to show so much less of themselves off to their family and friends! By week 10 most people have already had a dramatic transformation in the weight loss department so to be able to fully see it with attire and all is a confidence booster for sure.

I don’t know if you have noticed but there are few to no mirrors on the ranch. There are small mirrors in the bathrooms but it is RARE to catch a full body glimpse of yourself the entire time you are there. I was sent home the week before makeover week so I can’t fully tell you what it is like (insert tears and heavy sigh here), but from what I have heard it is amazing to be out of the sweat fest and to see what you have been working so hard on. For many it’s the first time in a long time they are shopping in “regular” sizes and are finding their body shapes are totally different. (more…)

Inspiring Letters from Home in Biggest Loser Season 10 Episode 9 Recap

OK, OK, so last week was the world series of game play and this week was literally as if the last eight weeks never happened! Whether that is good or bad I am not sure, however I must say I did enjoy watching this week without almost damaging my TV by throwing things at it and by not screaming so much that the husband had to leave the room.  It really is a true testament to the roller coaster of events and emotions that equates the journey! WELCOME TO THE BIGGEST LOSER!

The highlights for me this episode were: (more…)

Biggest Loser Strike Threatens Production Schedule

UPDATE [11/22/10]: IATSE members and the production companies responsible for The Biggest Loser reached an agreement over the weekend, bringing the strike to an end. The production crew will now be able to count their hours on The Biggest Loser toward receiving health insurance, reports The LA Times.

In an effort to unionize, The Biggest Loser crew walked off the set of the NBC reality TV show on Monday of last week, accompanied by members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE). Filming of the eleventh season was suspended, but the currently airing season ten will not be affected. According to Nellie Andreeva at Deadline Hollywood, producers were surprised by the strike and were not aware of the crew’s efforts to gain union benefits.

Though representatives from Reveille and 3 Ball Productions, who produce The Biggest Loser, were discussing agreements with IATSE last week, the dispute appears to be escalating. According to the Los Angeles Times, the show’s producers are planning on hiring replacement workers as crew members picket the King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas where The Biggest Loser is filmed.

“These companies, 3Ball and Reveille, who have produced union shows in the past, are willing to fire 50 to 60 people that have worked for them for years,” Vanessa Holtgrewe, director of photography for The Biggest Loser, writes in a widely circulated email. “Biggest Loser is the last big reality show standing that is not a union show,” she continues. “Survivor, The Bachelor, American Idol, Project Runway, Top Model…these are all union shows. We’ve been using union members’ expertise, safety knowledge, and skill sets for many seasons, without paying the union for it. And now the check has come due.”

Biggest Loser as Marines at Camp Pendleton

The Biggest Loser is leaving their fancy gym and state-of-the-art fitness equipment at home when the contestants head to Camp Pendleton to live and train like some of the most fit and motivated people in this great country: the Marines.

The week’s workouts are led by a select group of Marines that takes the contestants, including Frado, a former Marine himself, on grueling hikes with loaded backpacks, forces them to complete early morning rifle exercises and intense obstacle courses that build their physical and mental strength and endurance. Money Hungry Finale Recap

They say that the finale of every competition reality show is always the most exciting episode, and Money Hungry is no exception. We have seen teams come and go in dramatic fashion- however nothing has prepared you for this.

The final three teams are Mission Slimpossible, The Regulators and The Grading Curves. From the beginning of the episode, Marco is hurting bad. He is seeing spots and getting dizzy, and calls the house doctor, Dr. Lewis. The doctor asks him some basic diagnostic questions, but Marco quickly realized he wasn’t going to get much help from a phone call. (more…)
