This Dancing With the Stars recap comes with a heavy heart because Danica McKellar and Valentin Chmerkovskiy were eliminated. Though I am very openly rooting for Candace Cameron-Bure, it is still sad to see McKellar go. I love Winnie Cooper! The tango and samba routine during the celebrity dance duel was just not enough to make the cut. So bye bye!
Besides that big elimination, the big excitement came from the elaborate dances performed on this week’s episode. Also, Amy Purdy, who had a serious back and shoulder spasm last week, really pulled everything together once her doctors gave permission to let her keep on dancing. (Purdy had a very scary back injury while on the air, though she certainly pushed through the injury and was able to dance a very sexy tango with her partner Derek Hough.) This couple definitely deserved to stay on this week. (more…)
It has been a couple of weeks since we have checked in with our Dancing With the Stars crew, so let’s get to it! Exciting things are happening on the dance show, including some switch-ups!
For those of you who have not previously watched Dancing With the Stars, first of all, you’re missing out. Secondly, a “switch-up” is when the partners—celebrity and dancer—have to mix up their duos. It’s often tragic because some people just go so well together (and sometimes the new pairings feel like a major miss-match)! But enough of that, let’s check in on how the couples are doing.
Billy Dee Williams quit the dancing competition due to medical reasons, and Sean Avery has also been eliminated at this point. Besides those two, everyone else is still dancing strong.
This week, Meryl Davis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy led the highest scorers with their killer Argentine Tango. They wowed the crowd and the judges alike. In fact, Davis is leading the whole pack with the highest point total, so apparently switching it up didn’t shake her success at all. (more…)
Being a celebrity certainly doesn’t necessarily make you an expert on anything in particular (except maybe acting, or putting together awesome outfits), but it puts you in a good position to draw attention toward a particular issue. Like your diet. Which is why so many celebrities choose to share their diet plans and health regimens with the world in book form.
This makes a lot of sense to me—the general public admires a particular celeb for their smokin’ body, so why not share their wealth of personal information? Sure, they might not be certified nutritionists and the like, but chances are they’ve worked with dozens of them and have come to form their own opinion on what is good and not-so-good their—and yours.
Here are some favorite new health reads by some very familiar faces!
The Body Book, by Cameron Diaz
We already featured Body Book, but it is worth noting again that Diaz has recently released her first book, and it is a delightful read. Packed full of simple healthy tips and tons of personality, Diaz is definitely a person we can look to for body acceptance and surprisingly good eating advice. This girl is grounded and her outlook on food is too.
The former child star who captured the hearts of fans as D.J. Tanner on Full House, Candace Cameron Bure was not exempt from the pressures of growing up in the public eye. In her new book, Reshaping It All, Cameron Bure reveals that she suffered from bulimia and discusses her path to recovery.
The actress appears on the cover of next week’s edition of PEOPLE magazine. “It’s a very dangerous cycle that can just start to consume your life and really take over,” she told the magazine. “It wasn’t about me trying to lose weight,” said Cameron Bure. “It was all about emotions.” Her eating disorder peaked after Full House ended its run.
