It’s one big win after another for the most recent winner of The Biggest Loser. Michelle Aguilar announced that she and boyfriend Micah Whitehead became engaged just days following the finale. She says she was “shocked” by the proposal that came just four months after their romance began. Since losing 110 pounds during the shows sixth season, she’s excited about shopping for a dress in a size 4 or 6.
“Before, you have that fear: ‘Hey, can you pull me a size 20?’ What girl wants to say that?” Michelle told US Weekly. The bride-to-be says she “absolutely” plans to use her recent $250,000 winnings as part of the spring or fall 2009 wedding.
In 2008, diet-related searches online continued to be a hot topic. It seems Americans are wising up about their health and making more of an effort to get fit to reverse the concerning obesity epidemic that has begun to plague both young and old in our country.
In DietsInReview.com’s 2008 Most Popular Diets of the Year list, there were some tried and true plans that made the cut, not surprising any of us. Then there were those that seem to have a more fad-feel that left us scratching our heads, and some of you likely yo-yoing. Dr. Huizenga is one of the first people the Biggest Loser contestants meet. He gives them a thorough physical to assess how healthy, or in most cases unhealthy, they are. He makes the determination whether or not they can compete on the show. In cases like Biggest Loser 6’s Jerry, there are strict limitations on what they can and can’t do on the ranch. Many contestants, like season 5’s Bernie Salazar, credit Dr. Huizenga with helping them regain their health and lives. Here Bernie and Dr. Huizenga visit immediately following the Biggest Loser: Families finale.

Michelle Aguilar with Jillian Michaels
When talking with Michelle, season 6 winner of the Biggest Loser, one word repeatedly came to mind, “Incredible.” At finale she looked absolutely gorgeous, however I wanted to get at more than just her physical beauty, I instead wanted to focus on her inner strength. For those of us that religiously followed the show, we were able to see her inner strength gradually come out.
Having experienced the Biggest Loser first hand, I wanted to see how her experience transformed her mentally and emotionally. During our conversation she shared some really insightful things that the everyday viewer doesn’t always get a chance to hear, things like; how relationships in her life have changed, tips for maintaining her new found health, her future goals and endeavors, her relationship with Jillian and the Black Team, and most importantly her “Life Long Resolution”.
Congratulations Michelle, you are truly an inspiration to so many, as for all you “Biggest Loser” viewers be sure to tune in to Season 7 on January 6.

Apparently it pays to think pink at the Biggest Loser ranch. It pays $250,000 in fact. Tonight, Michelle Aguilar stepped on the daunting scale one final time and walked off a winner. She lost a total of 110 pounds, beating out rivals Ed and Vicky. She became the second female Biggest Loser, and the second winner in a row to sport the pink tee. Michelle said she wore black longer though, and that’s why she appeared at the finale wearing trainer Jillian’s color.
Congratulations to Michelle on such a hard-earned accomplishment. We wish you much success in your journey.

UPDATED: Watch now - DietsInReview.com interview with Heba Salama at the Biggset Loser Season 6 Finale.
Biggest Loser: Families went to the girls. Heba Salama walked away as Biggest Loser’s first female at-home prize winner, and $100,000 richer! Heba lost an astonishing 138 pounds. Had America voted for her to move on to the final three, rather than husband Ed, she would have been the Biggest Loser winner. But Heba’s quite gracious about her win either way, saying it was never about the money.
We congratulate Heba on completing such an amazing journey, and for such a tremendous transformation!
Alright we are now officially down to the Final 4, Michelle, Ed, Heba and Vicky, and you can definitely feel the pressure the contestants are under throughout episode 12. This episode began with Michelle coming to terms that her mother Renee had just been voted off, and that she would now have to continue her weight loss journey on her own. We see the remaining Blue team members celebrating the fact that they had escaped elimination and all had a chance to be finalist.
As in every episode there is a ton of working out, but this week seemed different. There wasn’t any of the usual whining, or complaining, about the workouts, all contestants seemed to have only one goal in mind, “Becoming a Finalist.” I personally am impressed with the determination and dedication each contestant seemed to show this last week.
Who would have thought Heba and Ed would have to go head-to-head to gain a position in the finale? It’s also not much of a surprise that Ed campaigned for his wife. Will it work?
We’re curious, who will you vote for? Make sure to cast your vote at NBC.
“Whoohoo, Makeover!”, On Episode 11 contestants got to strut their slimmer stuff on the Tyra Banks show in New York City. I feel the makeover show is one of the most powerful episodes that the Biggest Loser has every season. It allows contestants, as well as viewers, to see just how far they’ve come on their weight loss journey. That being said Ed, Heba, Vicky, Michelle, and Renee were whisked away for a shopping spree at Macy’s and treated to new hair styles at an incredible salon. The makeover episode is powerful in that it allows contestants the opportunity to realize that they can now shop off the rack, which for me was a tremendous personal victory. I would like to applaud each of the contestants on looking terrific!
After walking Tyra’s stage contestants were surprised by family members who flew out to New York to see their new and improved loved ones. While in New York contestants and family members decided to see the town and found themselves in the middle of Time Square, where Bob and Jillian miraculously appeared on a TV monitor. The Biggest Loser trainers congratulated contestants on their hot new look, but reminded them that they were still in the middle of a competition and that they had better spend their remaining time in the city working out. Contestants and their families took their trainers message to heart and the next day the blue team worked out at a newly opened 24 hour fitness, while the black team worked out in both Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge.
