There’s a lot of new stuff on the Biggest Loser ranch this season. Most notably, a few teenagers running around periodically. Of course, Jillian Michaels is showing her face again. And, there are those outdoor gyms that each trainer got to design themselves. It all keeps things pretty interesting for not only the contestants but those of us at home.
While Bob Harper told us last week about dedicating his gym to Crossfit, Jillian and Dolvett seemed to go a little more traditional. Until you see the Primal 7 equipment hanging in their gyms.
During the week three episode, we noticed the Primal 7 unit gleaning in the California sunshine. Those bright green straps are hard to miss. We’re pretty excited about this new development on the ranch. Tonight, we saw it again in Dolvett’s gym during Last Chance Workout.
While we requested comment from Jillian and Dolvett about introducing Primal 7 to their contestants, neither was able to respond. A spokesperson for Primal told us, “I can confirm that what you saw on The Biggest Loser was indeed Primal 7,” but declined further comment. (more…)
WHAT?! The trainers are leaving us? Alison Sweeney MUST be joking. The White team is down to its last two players; we NEED Jillian Michaels. Pam and I knew we had to put our game faces on and work harder than ever. She told us to run five miles a day- DONE, Ladder to Hell- DONE, stairs- DONE… Pam and I are BACK!
I think my favorite part of this episode was seeing Bingo’s, Sunny’s and Lindsay’s stories. I am so proud of Bingo’s parents as they are truly accepting of the new healthy lifestyle; check out all the fruit in that fridge! And Lindsay! Her mom and sister are really helping her kick it up to the next level-Fight to win girl! (more…)
It’s week three and there are only two of us left; Pam and I have no choice but to pull out ALL the stops! Then, Ali throws another twist – a pop challenge! This challenge tests our knowledge on childhood obesity and “there is a consequence for everything.” The losing team will have to spend 4.5 HOURS a day LOCKED in this room full of video games, TVs, lounge chairs and all the snacks I have spent the last two weeks avoiding all to emulate the life of the average child.
The challenge came down to the final question: Of the parents of obese children, what percentage think their child is normal weight or underweight? Answer: 75%!! I don’t know if I should be upset that we got this question wrong or upset that this statistic is SO high. This causes a tiebreaker – WE PULL AHEAD – WHEW!
I am so glad America is seeing the EPIDEMIC of childhood obesity and its effects on the next generation. I was just like Lindsay and Sunny growing up; I struggled with being the “chubby” kid. I believe that the lack of knowledge and advancements of sedentary technology are the viruses of this disease. It is our duty as the cast of Biggest Loser to make America aware. But for now, Pam and I just need to survive this week! (more…)
I was sitting in the auditorium and my heart was pounding. I had no idea whether or not I would be chosen, but when Alison Sweeney called my name I was overjoyed. I instantly felt a bond with everyone else on the stage with me; we were all determined to start this journey.
All along I wanted Jillian Michaels as a trainer when I heard she would be back. She really seems to break down contestant walls and I was hoping she could do that for me. However, when we went to our first workout, I was not prepared at all! I thought we were going to ease into it at first, but without warning we were thrown into the most intense workout of our lives. I really thought this was supposed to be about our team, and it made me angry every time another team member quit or got kicked out of the gym that first day.
I think it is easy to see that I was having a hard time with Jillian in these first two episodes. I felt like she wasn’t being uplifting to my team or me. When I was finally able to confront her about it, it really changed our relationship. For the first time I was standing up for what I believed in and she respected that. (more…)
Whether it’s her attitude, her sexy petite frame, her adorable new kids, or no-nonsense fitness philosophy, everyone’s got at least one thing for Jillian Michaels. And now, her biggest fans will get to spend two hours with her every Monday night as she returns to Biggest Loser for the show’s fourteenth season in tonight’s special two-hour premiere.
We’ll see her work with the 18 new contestants (including three teens) in the gym and on what they eat. So it’s natural to wonder – what does this world-renowned fitness expert eat? Through her Jillian Michaels Online program she prescribes a low-fat, low-carb, high-protein diet that’s anything but complicated. She’s busy, and she knows the rest of us are, too. America’s toughest trainer doesn’t take kindly to excuses so you can’t tell her you don’t have time to make something healthy.
It’s easy to see Jillian’s approach to eating is balanced, wholesome, and tastes darn good when you look at some of the recipes she’s published.
Jillian Michaels Breakfast
Frittata with Spinach, Potatoes, Peppers, and Feta – Start the day with this egg dish loaded with fresh vegetables and just a touch of feta cheese. Would pair well with a cup of yogurt and fresh fruit. She pitches Yoplait on the show; we tend to favor Chobani. (more…)
