Allie Ishcomer Puts Herself First After Biggest Loser Elimination

Before Biggest Loser, Allie Ishcomer was not her number-one priority. Everything else that surrounded her was. These days, Allie says she “put myself first and fight for my own self.” Down more than 60 pounds, primarily on her own at home, she says she doesn’t concern herself with the scale number. Instead, she’s more occupied with how she feels and looks, and right now, it’s pretty good!

Having only spent one week on the Biggest Loser ranch, after earning her spot in a challenge in Oklahoma City, she was eliminated in what could be called the first sign of game play in season 10. She says her fellow contestants saw her as a threat and being below the yellow line with Tina presented a good opportunity for them to get rid of her. “It is what it is,” she says about the fact that she had the highest body fat percentage in the house, a factor that likely swayed votes against her.

Allie talked to us after her elimination about putting school and work aside for the moment and making her health her full-time job. She also told us what her diet and fitness regimen look like now, which includes a favorite apple and peanut butter snack. Listen now!

Biggest Loser Contestants Arrive at the Ranch in Season 10 Episode 2 Recap

Here we are at episode two of season 10. We got to know everyone last week and now it’s time to see the fainting, puking, etc. in the gym! First, I LOVE that Bob and Jillian got to pick two contestants to join the rest of those that made it to the ranch! I do notice that  Bob loves us “biggest” Biggest Losers! And we all know that Jillian loves a fighter! They definitely picked the two that I believe will truly benefit from the ranch and that America will benefit from watching their journeys unfold.

The first workout, as always, was brutal to say the least. The trainers beat the smiles off of them! Oh, and not to mention beat the snot, puke, and tears out of them in true Biggest Loser fashion. Welcome to the ranch season 10!

Biggest Loser 10 Premier Recap with Shay Sorrells

They didn’t go BIGGER this year, they went wider, as in nation-wide to find this season’s Biggest Loser contestants! Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels always start out by setting the stage for the season and this time they gave some pretty staggering statistics! The truth is, the shape of America is changing and it’s not for the better, so Biggest Loser is continuing to do their part to shape up America and inspire people to get out and get active!

I love how Bob and Jill got to go to spots across the country, lead workouts, lead challenges and talk with people who have done the journey on their own at home! I also loved how they showed several people who had tried out for the show or were inspired by the show and made the changes on their own at home. Daily, I get Facebook messages and tweets about how people wish they could workout with Bob and Jill and this season tons of people got that opportunity! SO amazing!

I think the whole challenge to get on the ranch is actually a really interesting twist. It really shows a “fight” in people to go after what they want. Yet, it’s heartbreaking because you know everyone needs it, but the reality is not everyone is going to make it. But if I know Biggest Loser like I know Biggest Loser, don’t count these people out too soon! (more…)

Preview Biggest Loser 10 with Alison Sweeney and Mark Koops [Audio Interview]

We’re less than two weeks away from the Biggest Loser 10 premiere. Given all the show has done for so many people and society on the whole, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they’ve reached a milestone tenth season. In pre-season interviews, Bob Harper remarked that he always knew the show had legs because of how relatable it is (watch here), and to the contrary Jillian Michaels in her pre-season interview said that she never expected it to last (watch here).

There are a lot of people that are glad that (for once) Jillian was wrong. Two of those people would be host Alison Sweeney and executive producer Mark Koops.

We had a chance to speak with them as they prepare for the premiere. They talk to us about how the “pay it forward” theme will work not only in the first episode, but throughout the season. They also talk to us about the things they are most excited for us to see in the upcoming season, namely the change in structure to the show and a memorable visit to Camp Pendleton.

Listen now and then continue reading to learn more about the upcoming season.

Meet the Biggest Loser 10 Contestants

We’re just a few short weeks away from there premiere of Biggest Loser, beginning its 10th season September 21, 2024 on NBC. Already casting for season 11, it’s proof that this show is in the right place and right time as more and more Americans work to overcome the obesity epidemic that is plaguing young, old and everyone in between.

Each season the inspirational show, hosted once again by Alison Sweeney, takes overweight men and women and isolates them at the infamous Biggest Loser Ranch, located outside of Los Angeles, California. For several months (varying each season) contestants work side-by-side with esteemed trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper to lose weight, re-learn how to eat, and overcome the personal, emotional issues that have precluded them from living a healthy life before now.

While the Couples or Families versions of the show have become quite popular, pitting teams of two family members or friends against one another, season 10 goes back to the show’s roots with individuals competing against individuals.

For season 10, Biggest Loser is introducing the “pay it forward” theme – working to help these competing individuals as well as the communities from which they call home. The premiere episode shows trainers Bob and Jillian in seven hometowns for city-wide workouts. Amongst the crowd are three people vying for spots on the show, the two who finish the challenges first will become contestants.

Without further adieu, meet the 21-person line-up for season 10. Click in to each to see their complete bios. (more…)
