“Yes, NBC has finally lost their minds and decided to give me my own show,” posted the trainer on her Facebook page.

We spoke with Jillian, and executive producers Mark Koops and Ellen Rakieten, to learn more about her thoughts on the new show and what viewers can expect. Listen now as she tells us why she’s excited about “Losing It,” what we will see as she works with children, and how Curtis Stone came to be a part of the show.

Jillian says the show will allow us to see more facets of who she is and learn more about the methodology of the Jillian Michaels approach, things she says we miss on Biggest Loser. “I’m passionate about showing more of what we do,” she says.

There was talk last spring that Jillian was working on a show of her own, with a sort of “Super Nanny” approach. And it looks like that’s the format they’ve settled on. Tired of hearing from Biggest Loser fans that the weight loss would be easy enough if they could make it to the ranch, Jillian and producers set to work to alleviate that problem. “So we’re telling people, we’ll come to you and teach you how to be healthy.”

Jillian says with “Losing It” there are no more excuses. She’ll spend five to seven days with a family and follow them to work, school and the rest of their day-to-day lives, then evaluate their lifestyles and offer tools and information they can implement to enact real change. She calls it their marching orders, and assures us they’ll be following up to see how the families are doing. She’ll also make sure that the changes she suggests fit in with the families situations. If they can’t afford a gym, she’ll show them how to get the workouts done at home.

To help, she’s recruited Chef Curtis Stone, a popular fixture in the Biggest Loser kitchen. Jillian calls him a “natural and obvious choice” for the show. Executive producer Ellen Rakieten says that “Losing It” will actually feature a host of consulting guests to help families in areas where Jillian is not the expert – like cooking or finance.

100 Lost is a new weight loss reality show that is currently looking for teams of two eager individuals who are willing to compete in a competition to lose 100 pounds together with the help of expert health professionals and fitness experts.

“Teams will have a chance to bet their own money, banking on their ability to lose the pounds,” says a press release, taking part of the bet dieting phenomenon.

A popular, and yet unnamed, cable network is scouring the country to look for such duos who are excited not just about the possibility of losing serious amounts of weight, but about being motivated by a financial incentive to propel them on their weight loss journey.

Here are the requirements: You and a friend, spouse, colleague, sibling or other family member must be serious about losing weight. And they mean serious! Casting Call for New Weight Loss Show, 100 Lost

Not how am I doing at home, what are Bob and Jillian really like, how is Max doing, or do I have a girlfriend; they wanted to know ‘How do I get on the show?’.

Well, here are some of my audition tips for all of those that want to try their shot on The Biggest Loser.

• First off, come prepared.  Make sure you have all your information ready to go when you get in to be interviewed.  Everyone can print out the necessary forms on the Biggest Loser website.

• Next, for some odd reason people think that if they are first in line they have a better shot at getting on the show.  Not true.  Do you really think that if you camp out, get a horrible night’s sleep, have some stinky morning breath because you forgot your toothbrush, that you will really be on the top of your game?  No.  Get a good night’s rest, come awake and ready to go.  The producers will see a lot of people so camping out is not necessary at all.

• Bring your A game.  This may seem obvious, but what does that actually mean?

Don’t be ‘gimicky’.  Don’t wear costumes, ”it’s my birthday”, ” I Love Jillian and Bob“, or other shirts that have a list of all the casting calls you’ve been to.  You won’t be wearing those things on the show, and they just aren’t you.

Believe me.

• Make sure you speak up in your interview.  You are trying out for a TV show, they want to see that you can be vocal.  Keep eye contact.  Approach this like you would a business interview.

• Be yourself!  Bring your personality. If you have a great personality, and a great story the producers will notice you.

• Always remember,  you DO NOT need the Biggest Loser to change your life.  Light the fuse in your mind to change, make goals, stick to them, and good things are bound to come.

Mike Morelli’s Biggest Loser Casting Tips

I had the opportunity to speak with Allison during the summer casting for Biggest Loser 9. The show is currently doing a 15-city casting tour, including Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Oklahoma City and for the first time, San Antonio. When asked if there’s a science to the cities selected for open casting calls, Allison replied that they “try to change it up a bit” each season. But the city selection is based on a number of factors. She says they go where the obesity trends are, and pay attention to reports regarding the fattest cities or fattest states in America.

Allison even addressed the question that many of our Canadian readers often ask – “what about Canada?” Due to the legalities of the show involving a competition and prize money, she explained, it’s only possible now to cast legal U.S. residents.

For those of you preparing to attend one of the open casting calls this summer, Allison shares some key advice that could help you make it beyond the crowded lines.

• “Say everything you want to say.” You have about five minutes in front of the casting crew. Don’t walk away wishing you’d said something else.
• They’re looking for personality, charisma, uniquity.
• Know your story! Know who you are, what your motivation is, and why you want to do this. And make that perfectly clear to the casting crew.

Allison also had a couple of tips for things not to do at the Biggest Loser casting calls. Remember, they want to see the real you.

• Do not share your sob story.
• Do not wear costumes.
• Do not try to be something you’re not.

Whether you’re there to earn a spot on the show or to support a loved one, she says the open casting calls can be a “rewarding experience.” Hopefuls form a bond and camaraderie while waiting in line that often goes beyond the audition and creates life-long friendships.

She also advises that the casting calls are not necessary, and that submitting a video and application is just as likely to earn you a spot on the show. Allison confirms that they do watch every video they receive, and people have been casted solely based on their video submisison.

Biggest Loser Season 9 Now Casting

UPDATE: BIGGEST LOSER SEASON 9 CASTING NOW OPEN.

AUDITIONS FOR BIGGEST LOSER 8 HAVE CLOSED.

Have you dreamed of being the one to sweat, puke, cry and faint in America’s most famous gym? Think you have what it takes to train alongside Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels? Then your chance has arrived. Biggest Loser has released its live casting call schedule for 2009’s season eight. They are looking for individual and coupled contestants, as well as new trainers. NBC says they are “keeping creative options open” for the next season, which will debut in the Fall 2009 season.

An NBC statement explains who they are looking for. “Outgoing and charismatic individuals or teams of two are encouraged to apply, especially those who have the personality, desire and competitive edge to vie for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lose weight, change their lives forever and compete for a grand prize of $250,000.”
