cafe samana

Café Samana

While its neighborhood is not where you would expect to find quality vegetarian and vegan eating, at Café Samana that’s exactly what you get. Though it specializes in vegan and vegetarian cuisine, there are menu options for die-hard carnivores, too. However, even they might be convinced to try the tempeh, which is known as some of the best in town.

joe mommas

Joe Momma’s

Joe Momma’s is a traditional pizza place that also happens to be a traditional pizza place where you can get a completely vegetarian or vegan pizza. Beyond vegetarian pizza, Joe Momma’s also has an extensive beer list. It’s open in to the early morning hours, making it a great place to grab a slice after spending the evening out in Tulsa’s Blue Dome District.

the tropical

The Tropical

The Tropical is a tiny Asian fusion restaurant packing some big flavor. Much of the food is vegan or vegetarian, or can be made so, and an extensive seafood list will satisfy those heartier pescetarians. In September, The Tropical was voted Best Vegetarian Restaurant in Tulsa for 2024, if for no other reason (in our opinion) than their signature lettuce wraps filled with crispy rice, cilantro, carrots, glass noodles, peanuts, and even fresh lime.

elote

Elote

Elote is named for its signature dish, corn on the cob covered in spices and topped with a cream sauce. Eat this immediately because it’s the best way to have corn we’ve come across! Combine that side dish with Elote’s famous sweet potatoes and one of their other notable vegetarian dishes, like the portobello tart, and it becomes clear why this Mexican-inspired eatery is a Green Country favorite. The restaurant also plays host to many a luchador match-up, so if nothing else, there’s that!

greenacres market

GreenAcres Market

Tucked inside the back of a small, local health food grocery store in Jenks, Oklahoma is a deli that rivals any of your favorite lunch spots. Soups and salads rotate daily, with sandwich and entree items made fresh, you can make an impressive vegetarian feast. The curried tofu salad is a can’t-miss hit, daily soups like tomato pumpkin are always fresh and in-season, and boxed lunches like the Mediterranean plate include baba ghanoush and/or hummus with pita chips, stuffed grape leaves, and a tabbouleh salad. This is the only option on our list with multiple locations, so if you find yourself in Wichita, Kansas or Kansas City, Missouri, give them a visit there, too.
