Great idea… the only way to get people to cut down on bad habits is to make it too expensive for them. We saw this with gas prices last year; driving miles went down for the first time in history. The tax money collected on unhealthy foods can help pay for the health care these people are going to need when their bad eating habits catch up with them.

how is taxing unhealthy foods going to stop this obesity epidemic all it will do is make people pay more for them. i know smokers who pay the higher taxes on the ciggaretts it did not make them stop smoking and it is not going to benifit anything except the states pocket
