Diets in Review - Find the Right Diet for You

Join Ruby in the Hourglass Weight Loss and Fitness program

While getting educated in nutrition, learning how to eat and cook healthy, and learning portion control, Ruby’s diet consists of three meals and two snack daily provided by Hourglass Weight Loss and Fitness program (I’m going to call it HWLF for short).

This program is only available in Georgia, with two locations in Savannah and one in Pooler. HWLF provides a great approach to weight loss, offering fully prepared, never-frozen, preservative-free, calorie-conscious meals (the website claims to feed you for $7/day). The meals from this program are in line with the guidelines of the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, and the American Cancer Society to improve your health and help you lose weight.

By visiting their website, you can contact them to receive one meal free and find out how to order the meals so you can start your weight loss journey (you don’t have to join the complete HWLF program).  There are several different meal options you can choose from, with calories ranging from 1200, 1400, 1700 and 2100, enabling you to be provided the right calories to promote healthy weight loss. Ruby, the star of her own new Style Network program, has a meal plan that looks like this:

Breakfast: Whole grain waffles with roasted cinnamon apricots and pecans. Ricotta cheese. Diet syrup.

Lunch: Creamy four-cheese stuffed pasta shells topped with rustic tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Fresh yellow crookneck squash and peppers.

Dinner: Cran-Asian grilled chicken topped with a dry cranberry compote over steamed brown rice. Cabbage, celery, leek and water chestnut stir fry.

This program also provides a complete, all-around, fast, 30-minute circuit workout, one-on-one attention to keep you on track and help achieve your goals, and is physician owned and endorsed. HWLF also offers an online component to help with your weight loss goals, using a system known as MYTRAK. “MYTRAK is a computerized training system helping to ensure Hourglass members never plateau. HWLF offers INTERxVENTUSA® Online Lifestyle Management Program, a web-based tool that allows members additional health and nutritional information via a complementary Internet interface.”

If you’re in the Georgia area, I encourage you to look into this program and see if its something of interest to you. If you’re not in Georgia, visit HWLF online to look into their meal plans. This program appears to be nutritionally sound and it could be the weight loss jump start you are looking for.

I, too, am on Ruby's diet, Ourlife Fresh and I LOVE it too...I had no idea that diet food could taste so good. I finally feel like I have a diet that I can stick with and lose the 45 pounds that have been plaguing me since I had my beautiful twins. Would love to hear from other Ourlife Fresh fans as to how they r progressing!

I don’t know how all this started for you. But I am happy for you. You are my story. I started at 280 I am now at 230. One of my problems has been no matter what weight I was it wasn’t small enough. So I developed the problem of hating my body even when I was small. I look at pictures and wish I was that small again but then I would remember that I hated the way I looked then too.
You are a true inspiration to me. To let the world see you on T.V. in all situationss. Just think Ruby, Your story is helping a lot of people to accept themselves as they are, and then taking that step forward.

I would love to talk to to you some time. I feel we are a lot a like.
If we don’t ever get to talk I hope you continue your journey and I hope you reach your goal.

Hey Ruby,

I watch you all the time and you are a true inspiration. I am at 300 pounds. I am 30 years old at 6’2”. Unfortunately, I do have diabetes and it is so hard to get over the hump. Let me tell you. When I first watchede youw show, you gave me the inspiration to stop the excuses and get on the ball. What I was wondering is if the hourglass was available in St. Louis area because I need a support system in order for me to do it and I need to drop at least 120 pounds within the year and it is already almot the end of Feb. So, let me know if your doctor could work with mind and get it going.

To every one wondering about this great meal plan that Ruby is on we all have to be honest about where it is coming from. It is not Hourglass Weight Loss and Fitness that provides Ruby with the meals. In all actuality it comes from a non profit organization called Project Open Hand out of Atlanta, GA. The name on the meals is Good Measure Meals. The only thing that Hourgalss Weight Loss and Fitness does is supplies a pick up point for the customers who order the food. Hourglass has nothing to do with the food.

Dear TRUTH (sounds like you are from Atlanta)
Hourglass does not make the meals. But I feel lucky to have it, because, how many restraunts devote their entire menu to dieting? With that said and not making it taste like cardboard. I was so SICK of grilled bland chicken. Hourglass is creative with spices and does not offer up every day plain “military” food. Unique vegitables and fruits that are on some designer restraunt menus (without the expense!) Also no calorie counting, grocery shopping, or preparing ( Good especially of you hate cooking.) Dr. Bradley has provided us a wonderful selection and an opportunity we would otherwise not have or truly, be very hard to find; or especially want to even cook for ourselves. I LIKE THE TASTE & IT Fits!
