Lululemon, Nike, A Course in Weight Loss and Beecher’s Mac and Cheese Amongst Oprah’s Favorite Things

Where as Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music prefers the simple things in life, like rain drops on roses and warm woolen mittens, Oprah prefers the fabulous, and she also likes sharing. That’s great for the approximately 300 guests in her studio audience today, as they’re going home with the most fabulous bundle of gifts the talk-show host has ever given away. Friday’s Oprah’s Ultimate Favorite Things (with a second audience receiving these gifts in a special episode today) is a farewell to this popular annual segment, as she enters the final half of her 25th, and final, season.

With more than 20 items on the list, including a cruise, jewelry, and one of our favorite organizations, KIVA, we were glad to see a few items that will help motivate people to get in shape. We thought you health-conscious individuals might enjoy them, too. And while we can’t give them away in a confetti- and shriek-filled party, we can point you where to find to them.

Lululemon Relaxed Fit Pants

Whether going for the yoga look or wanting to look good for an actual yoga class, these comfy pants from a leader in yoga and fitness wear will be a welcome addition to your wardrobe. “I’ve got to tell you,” Oprah says, “anything that cuts your butt in half should be your favorite thing too!” They have drawstrings, and a waistband that rolls up or down to better flatter your rear. Retail for $98. Find them at Lululemon.

Nike “Free Run Plus” Shoes

Decades of research and professional runner feedback helped develop the newest in shoe technology (in a fashionable look) from Nike. “It’s the next best thing to being barefoot,” Oprah says. “It weighs next to nothing.” Lightweight and a design that mimics your foot’s natural motion let you pound the pavement more comfortably. Retail for $89. Find them on Amazon.

A Course in Weight Loss

Respected weight loss author Dr. Dean Ornish with Marianne Williamson provide 21 lessons in weight loss that bridge spirituality with healthy habits in A Course in Weight Loss. The book will take you on a journey to identify and overcome the root issue behind your weight problems. “We all know that it’s a spiritual issue to help you get your mind, body and spirit aligned,” Oprah says. You’ll learn a holistic approach to weight loss with lasting results, not how quickly you can reach the goal. Retails for $24.95. Find it on Amazon.

Miraclebody Jeans by Miraclesuit

These really are skinny jeans, with built-in panels to slim your tummy, lift your real, and Lycra to slim your thighs. “Put them on, and suddenly you look 10 pounds thinner,” Oprah says. With four different cuts, like leggings and boot-cut, you’re sure to find the one that’s right for your style. Retails for $110. Find them on Amazon.

Beecher’s “World’s Best” Mac ‘N’ Cheese

It’s macaroni and cheese dish that suits the mature palate of adults. Arriving frozen, you just have to heat, eat and enjoy this pasta, made from aged cow’s milk cheese and Jack cheese. “The best part [is] it comes frozen,” Oprah says. “All you have to do is heat it up, and you’ve got yourself some good eatin’ from Beecher’s.” Oprah should have warned that this favorite thing will require the yoga pants, running shoes and weight loss book, because a five-ounce serving has 410 calories and 16 grams of fat. Retails for $29. Find it at Beecher’s.
